The love it took to leave you, the new album from Colin Stetson is out today. Listen via link in bio.
Recorded over a week in early 2023 at The Darling Foundry, a 144-year-old former metalworks facility in Montreal now transformed into a contemporary art complex, with a voluminous main room that still maintains its raw architecture of brick, concrete and steel.
Colin - “The aim was to fully inhabit every bit of this space. Using my usual technique of close miking my throat, breath, and the instrument, I was simultaneously amplified throughout the main hall and three other chambers of various sizes, capturing the reverb and character of each, while projecting live lighting and video, triggered in real time by my playing, resulting in both this album in its entirety (adding no overdubs or loops/FX) and the concert film as well.”

1017 is the high-voltage trio from Colin Stetson @colinstetson , Stian Westerhus @stianwesterhus , and Erland Dahlen – a band whose name references the staggering energy (1017 TeV) theoretically needed to create a black hole! This is music forged at the brink of collapse, and the band dives headlong into that gravitational threshold – where songs and sounds bend, fractures and collapses into something profoundly transformative and painfully beautiful. Following a critically acclaimed debut tour in 2024, 1017 returns in 2026 with the new album on @invadarecords , launching a year of extensive touring:

“This music ranges all over the place, from the dreadful to the tragic, the sexy to the unhinged and comedic. There are tracks here that thunder and howl like metal dirges and others like sorrowful lamentations, several are up tempo techno tracks weaving like a heist caper.” - Colin Stetson
Support comes from Korean duo @dal__um
dal:um is a musical duo based in Seoul, who challenges the sonic possibilities of Korea’s most well-known traditional string instruments: the gayageum and geomungo. Ethereal and otherworldly, Dal:um creates a compelling soundworld that treasures subtle dynamics and the space between the notes.

Pre-Order Now: Something Very Bad is Going to Happen 🩸
From the minds behind Stranger Things, Something Very Bad is Going to Happen is the chilling new 2026 Netflix horror series created by Haley Z. Boston. Centered around a wedding that slowly descends into dread, the story follows Rachel and Nicky as their dream ceremony in a secluded snowy forest begins to unravel into something far more sinister…
The score is composed by Grammy Award-winner Colin Stetson, known for his haunting, experimental sound and work on Hereditary, The Menu, and Red Dead Redemption 2. His signature use of saxophone and tension-building sound design creates a deeply unsettling atmosphere that perfectly matches the series’ creeping sense of paranoia and fear. 🎶
This exclusive vinyl edition is limited to just 300 individually numbered copies and pressed on striking ‘Tie-and-Dye’ red and black swirled vinyl. Housed with an insert, it’s a must-have collector’s item for horror fans and soundtrack enthusiasts alike. ✨

Out now as part of Uncut Magazine’s Tom Waits special is an interview with Colin about working with Tom:
“What he does can sometimes appear as though it is unlearned, like this is a person just doing it the way that they do it. No! This is a craft. This is a person who knows exactly when and where everything has to go in order for it to work. He manipulates the weather. It’s a high science. Tom is one of the originals, and he paved the way for all of us.”
(Colin played the clarinet on the track “All The World is Green”)
