Cog Wild’s long time guide Pia recently experienced a serious road biking accident. She sustained fractures to her C6 and C7 vertebrae and five thoracic vertebrae, a brain bleed, and a broken thumb. She has made it out of the hospital and is fighting hard — but the road to recovery is a long one, and her insurance is not covering her post-hospital care.
If you rode with Pia over the years, perhaps you’d like to contribute to a Go Fund Me account to help her heal and get back on the trails. Alternatively, donate directly to her via Venmo.
Sunday funday in Oakridge yesterday with 17 CJC riders, parents and coaches having a blast sampling the amazing east side trails — huge thanks to @cogwild drivers Brian and Shawn for making it possible for us to get a bunch of laps.
These were new trails for the majority of the group and they can’t wait for the next trip.
The trails are going to get cleared even faster! 15 new volunteer sawyers are now certified to clear trail on public land. Some new @cotamtb sawyers, but folks also came from around Oregon and Washington.

Oakridge glows in the spring time. With the historically low snow year, all the trails are open and riding well. The full shuttle schedule begins this weekend and we now have a rental fleet of Santa Cruz E bikes and full suspension bikes.
This year, consider camping or staying in a vacation rental to ride more days and connect to Oakridge. Join a trail work party with Oakridge Trails Alliance, browse art on a First Friday Art Walk or hit the Sunday Farmers Market.

1 min deep dive into better cornering from Coach Bill. What is reverse angulation in unsupported corners? And do you emphasize lean, angulation or rotation in open corners like this?
