OUR #MENTALITY
Our name Coffee Mentality, reflects our belief that coffee is more than a beverage - it’s a platform for building connections and inspiring change within our communities.
Through the coffee we serve and the spaces we create, we aim to foster meaningful connections that shift #mindsets and encourage new ways of positive thinking.

Editorial Reel | What will it take for Philippine coffee to truly take the world stage?
Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia currently lead the coffee conversation in Southeast Asia.
All three built strong coffee systems.
Protected national coffee identity.
And developed coffee communities capable of collective growth.
Meanwhile, the Philippines remains the wild card.
Because across World of Coffee Asia 2026 in Bangkok, one thing became impossible to ignore:
Filipinos are already deeply embedded inside global coffee culture.
From Australia to the Middle East, Filipino baristas, roasters, café operators and educators are quietly helping power respected coffee systems around the world.
The talent was never the problem.
The question now is whether the Philippines can finally build coffee systems strong enough to match the level of its people.
Because perhaps the next great coffee nation in Southeast Asia will not be built by cafés alone.
But by bringing Filipino coffee talent, coffee identity and coffee structure together under one direction.

#repost and credits: Australian Embassy Thailand
Our embassy hosted a free coffee tasting workshop at Roots at Ratchathewi in partnership with specialty roasters Roots and Coffee Mentality. 🥄
🏆 2026 Australian Cup Tasters champion Karl Lee @barista_karl and 2025 World Cup Tasters champion Chatchalerm (Boss) Lertanekwattna @causeuseemelikeaufo shared their experiences and guided the workshop.
Ian Abadiano from Coffee Mentality said Australia produces up to 800 tonnes of coffee a year, and the workshop was the first time they shared beans from Jack Murat Farms in Thailand.
Roots’ Korn Sanguenkaew talked about characteristics of Thai coffee, and it’s development over the years.🌱
Workshop participants sampled a selection of Australian and Thai grown coffees, and used a coffee character wheel to describe qualities from flavour to finish. Some also took part in our cup taster challenge. The top two winners chose the correct coffee in less than 10 seconds - well done! 👏

What happens when #impactdriven roasters collaborate, with #teamaustralia support, two coffee champs leading a sensory experience, and Mallee the koala cheering on …☕️🐨🇦🇺🇹🇭
A jam-packed room buzzing with energy, fun chats and new friendships.
So good to share Australian coffees sourced @jackmuratfarm in Bangkok for the first time, while also tasting and learning more about Thai coffees.

Humbled and proud to stand at World of Coffee Bangkok and see my roots represented among the global coffee community.
Coffee can become many things and it inspires me to see Filipinos across every corner of the industry, from producers, educators, journalists, and entrepreneurs to baristas, competitors, café owners, and creatives helping shape the future of coffee.

We love our coffee☕️
But behind every cup, there’s a bit going on. Most of the coffee fruit never actually makes it to your cup, it ends up as waste along the way. And with all that bulk, green beans are shipped overseas in heavy-duty jute sacks.
That’s where people like Ian come in. From @coffeementality , he’s spent years thinking about coffee differently, not just how it tastes, but what happens around it.
So we teamed up with Ian, and Sid from @musheeco , to give some of that waste another life. Turning used coffee sacks into packaging for a limited run of our Shower Steamers.
Only 1,000 made.
Not the easiest path, but one that feels worth it. If you’re into backing ideas like this, give them a shop!
Proud to share this spotlight on our cafe partner Mutsumi @a_waytocoffee on his entrepreneurial journey of choosing a different path of community, and creating impact in Kagoshima 🇯🇵
Interview with @boku_magazine
After graduating from university, Mutsumi went around various places in Japan, and met his teacher Ian in Australia and started a mobile cafe in Japan.
“Make life the choice of passion”. Not only do we serve coffee, we also offer activities to expand our choices in life, and to lead a society where as many people as possible can live fully, we also provide events, and instruct people who want to learn coffee.
