When Sheldon’s manufacturing team aren’t creating joinery solutions for our workplaces, they’re looking for ways to support and grow the surrounding bush areas of the factory 🦜
Last week, the team used their skills to create a set of bird and insect boxes for native species, including parrots, owls, thrushes, rosellas, kookaburras, and bees.
This is part of Sheldon’s wider ESG goal, along with a range of land regeneration and native species protection initiatives led by the Sheldon and CoDesign teams.

What if all privately held land in Australia could support healthy soil, waterways, forests, habitat for native species, Indigenous Culture and ceremony, research and education AND productive enterprise?
This is the question that the Yambulla Project is endeavoring to prove in their country-first approach to land management. Yambulla is currently bringing together consultants in forestry, carbon, biodiversity, native foods and Indigenous Culture to collaborate on a masterplan that will guide holistic decision-making and enterprise development across the whole property and lead the way for landholders in changing the way they manage land.
To achieve this initiative, the Yambulla Project have launched a crowdfunding campaign. As a longtime supporter of Yambulla's mission, Sheldon encourage everyone to check out the project and, if possible, contribute to their efforts via the link in our bio.

Yesterday was Sheldon's annual NAIDOC Week cultural experience in recognition and celebration of Indigenous people and culture. Thanks to everyone who joined us at 40 Mount St for the immersive experience.
Hosted by Sheldon's cultural advisor Richard Swain, we were all welcomed to Cammeraygal Country and smoked in a traditional smoking ceremony. We then enjoyed a dance performance by Gumaroy and Two Sisters Gamilaroi and Wailwan dancers, alongside Robert Wetherill on the Didgeridoo. Peta-Joy Williams then guided us in a traditional weaving workshop, sharing her ancient skills.
Thanks to everyone who joined us in sharing this important occasion, listening and learning about how we can care for Country during NAIDOC Week and beyond.

Last week, the @sheldoninteriors_au and @codesignplus teams headed out to nearby Balls Head Reserve on Cammeraygal Country for an enriching series of walks and talks around the beautiful headland. Led by Karen from the Aboriginal Heritage Office, and @codesignplus CEO Richard Swain we enjoyed the fresh morning while learning about the Indigenous history of the area and Sydney Harbour. Thanks to everyone who joined us!
This Reconciliation Week and beyond, we’re exploring meaningful ways to incorporate Indigenous artefacts, art and culture into the workplace. This provides a way to support Indigenous businesses and artists, provides cultural awareness and understanding to staff and a connection to the Country you work on.
