It’s been almost 20 years in this career as a coach.
Maybe it’s the Jazz Musician in me, but I have never enjoyed staying inside the lines while coloring. I have always felt a sense of wonderment in searching for things outside the box and its always made me question staying within a boxed method of movement in fitness.
That mindset has always attracted me to try things most weren’t willing to do before they became mainstream.
In fitness, I always felt like there was a disconnect between what is done in the gym and the expression of what is done outside, in movement and sport. And for as long as I can remember the answer most commonly given was, “Get strong in the gym and it will give you the ability to express your fitness outside in sport.” That answer just wasn’t good enough for me to trust blindly.
Longevity and Injury prevention lead to discovering David Weck and Rope Flow. And while I was laughed at by my colleagues for learning the rope, I didn’t care because I felt a connection that wasn’t happening doing Thrusters and Pull Ups for time.
This weekend, I received answers to my questions… and answers to questions I didn’t know I had!
This weekend had me indexing different experiences in my journey through Running Marathons, CrossFit Competitions, Olympic Weightlifting, Jiujitsu competitions and longevity challenges. Finally understanding why things happened the way they did.
Thank you to David Weck for being an endless source of knowledge. It was amazing to listen to you and pick your brain this weekend.
Thank you to Chris Chamberlin for being a tremendous example of the pursuit of open knowledge, asking questions and not being afraid to discover the answer by turning the picture upside down. The way you turned complex concepts into simple lessons for better absorption was inspirational.
Thanks to Dustin and Drew for being there to add to the experience with your knowledge and watchful eyes.
I am so inspired and excited by this experience.

Attained my Level 1 and Level 2 Certifications from Landmine University and Coach Alex Kanellis.
I am still unpacking so much from this week in San Diego visiting the Weck Lab.
This place has become very special to me. It’s the source of my inspiration as a coach, my Mentor Coaches @thedavidweck@erodingweakness and now @landmineuniversity are constantly working to forwardly bring, what are considered “uncommon” methods, to the world. I left the weekend with my cup overflowing with new creative angles to view teaching better movement.
Alex’s systems are thorough, progressive and inclusive. His knowledge was incredibly deep, but his biggest lesson was to work towards simplifying teaching methods. Something I have always felt was the true measure of a great coach.
As someone who took traditional weightlifting to the limit.. or at least to my own limit, this was a breath of fresh air. A view from a different side of something I have done an emense amount of work on as an athlete and as a coach.
It even motivated me to compete in the Landmine Games. My first weightlifting competition in more than a decade! I set personal records in the Snatch, Clean & Jerk and Total. The environment was electric and it has reignited a desire to come back year after year and try to improve.
Not only was the educational experience one for the books, but I got to finally meet many of the amazing coaches whom I have networked and collaborated with throughout the year since becoming a Weck Method Coach. Being in a room with like-minded people, tinkering, working out, competing along side them, and enjoying coffee and many meals together, reminded me of what it feels like to be part of a team.
I am thankful that my body was able to hold up and get me through 4 wild days of training. Even though I wasn’t shy about sharing how sore I was with my friends, I felt blessed to be sore and to have been able to move with purpose and challenge.
Cheers to everyone!

Happy to announce that I have been asked to continue my ambassador position on team Slush for 2026!
The rope has given back to me in many ways, but one of the best was getting to become an educator and representative of Slush, her products, her mission, and her team.
It’s been 20 years since @thedavidweck invented Rope Flow - yet I feel like the members of team @slushropes and the other amazing coaches out there are manning the front line in an impending eruption in the awareness of rope flow on the fitness community.
And it feels amazing to be here to see it happen.
I have some big plans for Rope Flow in 2026

Friday Flow
Skill Set: Stance Switches
These can be done as a shuffle, or a jump. And they can be a split stance or a 180-360° switch.
You can add this as an extra layer of complexity to every existing rope flow sequence.
You just need to know the rules of rope.
I can teach you. It’s what I do.

Friday Flow with Team Slush
Skill: Traveling
Today I decided to use a rope mace and drill a variety of sequences and patterns moving from one side of the room to the other.
Stance and balance are where I typically start people with the rope. And the next step is that I often get them traveling forward and backwards.
Traveling really helps clean up the timing and synchronization of the rope and your body movement.
Find these movements interesting?
Book a session with me and I’ll teach them to you.
Need a rope?
Visit @slushropes and use my code “DiG10” at checkout. They just dropped an insane collection of new ropes and mace/club ropes as well.

The experience of hanging out at @weckmethod HQ for the @landmineuniversity seminars and games in January left me wanting to chase some bigger goals.
Along side body composition and lifestyle, I was super inspired by @cw__strength@legendary_pasos@_gettingjacked@mikisarzi@andreamoreira_coach and @everyone else to step things up with my performance strength.
The first goal I set is to be able to snatch my 56kg bell by the end of 2026.
4 months have gone by since that goal was set and.
I have finally healed the Tenosynovitis in my wrists and have started to use my bells without pain for the first time in a year.
Today I was able to build up to a snatch pull complex with the 48kg bell. Heaviest I have ever done.
It’s a big gap to grow between 48-56kg. Even though it’s only two bells.
But it’s nice to see how locking myself in has helped me improve my mindset and my health.
The inspiration I have from my colleagues, friends and family are fueling my own personal devotion.
Cheers to more progress!

Training… is never easy. But it can get a bit monotonous.
I mean, you feel okay with investing your money into accounts every day so that one day you can retire with a fortune, right?
Why do you have a troublesome time doing daily investments in your health that add up to a fortunate life?
It’s lower risk and higher reward… because without it.. that fortune means nothing.

Strength is never a weakness…
Aches, muscle strains, injuries… they happen. You never know when a slip or fall might happen, or a car accident, or a random strain picking up a bag off the floor… and yes, in the gym.
But a more durable body hurts less.
But you need to build that… today. Not after the injury
This is how active people stay active.
It’s how older people stay young.
Stop flirty with your goals and go all in.
Friday Flow
This week’s Skill - 180° step pivots.
Combining foot work with sequences you already know in the rope is a great way to challenge yourself!
In this case, I am pivoting forward and backward on the same foot.
You can also pivot forward 180° and then again forward in the same foot making it a 360° sequence.
Lots of options here!
Enjoy, explore and get creative!

Coaches more legendary than myself have said, “The Greatest adaptation that occurs in the gym happens between the ears”
When you train correctly, failure happens, and development occurs when you learn how to properly respond.
Double 32kg Kettlebells is a status…
For anyone.
And when you get there, it’s going to ask you for more than you’ve given in the past.
And this was Sebi’s Experience.
He had it. He doubted himself and failed.
He regrouped. He tried again…
Then he nailed it.
Then he nailed it again and added a squat.
Grit, Perseverance, Belief…
All Are muscles to train.

B.T.T or “Bilateral Torsion Training” is what most people commonly do in the gym. It’s your Squats, Deadlifts, Presses and Auxiliary movements that occur in a neutral planted stance and require no coiling, rotation or balance shifting.
Bilateral Torsion Training is good!
C.T.T or “Coiled Core Training” requires shortening one side of the spine (while the other side lengthens) and holding maximal tension and Balance shifting through movements.
Coiled Core Training is good!
R.M.T or “Rotational Movement Training” requires the same aspects of CCT except in these movements and sequences, you alternating coiling, lengthening and Balance Shifting from side to side throughout the set.
Rotational Movement Training is good!
All these things are good and have a place in the gym for both athletes and general population.
But when you combine all 3 methods of movement training in the correct balance, this becomes the ultimate and optimal way to bridge the gap between what we do in the gym, and how our body functions in athletic expression.
Can you classify each of the movements in this video?
Give me your answers in the comments!
