Before and after! In less than 24 hours thanks to the work of Assembly Member @catalinacruzny and our office we were able to get city agencies to fix the sinkhole on 37th Avenue and 76th Street in Jackson Heights!
Please be cautious as you drive through or walk across 37th Avenue and 76th Street in Jackson Heights! We are aware of the sinkhole at the intersection. We are working with the Department of Transportation and Assembly Member @catalinacruzny office to have it addressed as soon as possible.
Yesterday, we proudly hosted the 6th Annual Muslim Day at City Hall! Together, we are an example of how our communities come together with purpose, compassion, and a shared commitment to justice.
We are deeply grateful to the advocates, organizers, community leaders, faith leaders, students, and City Council Members who stood with us and helped make this day so meaningful. Your presence sent a clear message: Muslim New Yorkers belong in every room where decisions are being made about our city’s future.

A special thank you to the 25+ organizations that joined us — organizations that serve Muslim communities and ALL New Yorkers with open arms, dignity, and care every single day. Your work truly embodies what a pluralistic democracy looks like: people of different backgrounds, faiths, cultures, and experiences working together toward a more just, inclusive, and compassionate New York City.
We move forward together!

I joined Council Member Shekar Krishnan and community leaders today calling for the MTA to reopen the LIRR station in Elmhurst.
Reopening this LIRR station would be a major win for Elmhurst and surrounding neighborhood — expanding transit access and meeting growing community needs. The MTA has a lot on its plate, but Elmhurst can’t be overlooked. It’s long overdue. Let’s get it done.
Residents and businesses around this Elmhurst nightclub have been dealing with ongoing quality of life and public safety issues for far too long.
I joined Council Member Shekar Krishnan in calling for immediate action from the State Liquor Authority and NYC Sheriff’s Office because our communities deserve better.
