🏛️ We are excited to announce the opening of our new solo exhibition, ‘Seeking to walk beautifully on the earth’ by Irish artist Christine Mackey on Sat. 1 Feb. 2025!
Join us at the opening, 2pm at The Model for a tour through the exhibition led by the artist herself and refreshments at the reception afterwards. @cmackeystudio
Mackey’s artistic practice is one of profound stewardship, observation and care for the environment, and is deeply rooted in site-specific land and marine-based work. Seasonal processes range from collecting seeds, to weaving floating islands, to nourishing native tree saplings, to the cultivation of waste ground.

Open Studio with Christine Mackey
Thursday 30th April
1.00pm-2.00pm
Join us for an Open Studio talk with residency artist Christine Mackey in the Garden Studio at Butler Gallery.
Christine's focus for the studio garden residency has been sphagnum mosses, keystone species in the living body of wetland ecosystems. In response to this residency, Christine has been closely observing the intricate structures of these plants and the hidden life forms that depend on them, a world revealed through patient, sustained looking.
