WEDNESDAY MEANS NEW IPA DAY! Every winter, we get a little, um, antsy? as we wait for that invitation to show up in our email. Which invitation? THE invitation. The big one. The BEST beer festival in the world. The @firestonewalker Invitational Beer Festival. You won’t find a better line-up of breweries and beers anywhere else. Tickets sell out in minutes, year after year. It’s a bucket list for brewers AND for drinkers. And we’re honored to be a part of it again - our fifth go! And we made an IPA just for it! California Waiting IPA is loaded with our favorite lots of Citra and Mosaic, along with some Waimea from New Zealand, and some Fresh Waimea Cold Pressed Hop Kief from @freestylehops to take it to the next level. Every little thing’s gotta be just right…and it is. It’s soft but dry, with quenching bitterness on the back end, and notes of tangerine, white grapefruit, and passionfruit for a classic PNW Hazy-type experience most of you are familiar with. #californiawaiting #ipa #fwibf #herewecome #twoweeksaway

LOOK HOW THEY SHINE IPA IS BACK TODAY AFTER A 5+ YEAR HIATUS?! In the early ‘00s, @virgil_gamache_farms released an exciting new IPA hop now known as @amarillohops The rarely seen press release was odd, but catchy: “Look at the hops, look how they shine for you. And everything you brew. Yeah they are Amarillo. I came along. I grew a hop for you. And all the things you brew. They are named after Yellow.” Coldplay THEN stole the press release and turned it into a multiple platinum hit single and the rest is history. Irregardless (this is now a word), we still remember when Amarillo was the IT hop, long before Strata, Mosaic, Citra, Simcoe, Krush, etc. So we built a modern IPA with 2 Row, Pils, Wheat & Oats around some beautiful Amarillo lots from @royfarms_hops @lozafarms @goodingfarms and @crosbyhops . We sprinkled in a little Citra & Chinook to round it out - but this beer is all about Amarillo, and that juicy, bright citrus hop character. WHO’S READY TO CATCH BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET IPA TODAY?!? WE ARE!!!! Let’s set the stage. You’ve spent all your disposable income and paid vacation time just to get to this farm wedding in the middle of nowhere. It took like 2 flights, 1 bus, and a taxi to get there, and you’re exhausted - but the setting is amazing. It’s screaming rustic-chic all over the place, from mason jars to string lights to some live Americana music all set in an old barn surrounded by old growth trees. And then you see it - the hop bouquet. Simcoe is all ruby red grapefruit sprinkled with pine needles. Strata is all strawberry and purple kush. Cascade is preserved lemon and fresh cut flowers. At this point, you’ve sat through 6 speeches, 2 dances, countless “candid” photos, and the cutting of a cake that @inagarten definitely baked herself. Finally, the time comes to get your nose into this Beautiful Bouquet. As bride turns around and throws the hop flowers over their head, your future flashes in front of your eyes.
