I regularly have ideological clashes with the conscious community that is so often entwined with flow and fire arts. I found my roots in spirituality at the same time I found leviwand, and I spent the past decade refining my skill at the same rate as my beliefs. At this point in my journey, it's hard for me to feel connected with the ethos of the spiritual collective for the same reasons I left every other religion- a deep inadequacy in the way the beliefs are practiced and the limitations around understanding, discernment, inclusion, and an unwillingness to accept new knowledge that doesn't agree with intuition. Often, intuition is a deep belief hard-coded into the senses through personal experience and social conditioning at a level that convinces us that it is an accurate representation of reality. We are all human and all subject to it- whether it is trauma responses disguised as wisdom, the barnum effect, or confirmation bias. Those most sure of themselves are often the most impacted. But ultimately, if your spirituality is a framework every decision you make is filtered through to conveniently confirm whatever you already wanted to do or believe, it isn't spirituality. That's just a Palo Santo scented excuse. True spirituality holds you accountable and calls you out on your shit. You cannot grow stronger without recognizing where you are weak, and often what you need most to grow that strength is in the place you least want to look. That takes resilience. Find it in your mind, in your gut, or in your balls- it's all the same fuel that turns the force you've built into the reality that is not only weirder than you imagine, but weirder than you can imagine.
