Trigger warning: recreated images related to physical trauma and death.
We would like to acknowledge all of the amazing people that worked on
@clean.documentary . This post is dedicated to the talented team that helped us with our title sequence shots, which made a bold and impactful impression at the top and tail of our documentary.
Over two days in an abandoned house in Heidelberg, we recreated some of the more challenging scenes that trauma cleaners face. For various reasons we did not film these scenes in real life, but it was still important for us convey these types of cleans visually as they are part and parcel of the trauma cleaning profession.
We can’t thank enough our cinematographer Sherwin Akbarzadeh
@sherwin_akbarzadeh for putting his faith in our project and gifting us with his vision and craft, to help us achieve what we feel are some of the most evocative and beautiful shots in the documentary. A huge thanks as well to our lighting team, Tommi Hacker
@freddydunningkrueger and Birrin King, for going above and beyond to craft each shot with stunning naturalistic light that perfectly complemented the setting and mood. Props to our production design team (Bianca Milani
@aaphundies and Steven Curry
@little_bants_vintage ) for bringing added realness/humanity to these scenes.
We’d also like to thank: our ever-reliable 1st AC Nick Forster, Sam Pearce
@sampearce.mua for her genius recipe for fake blood, and our ace production assistant Alanna Marshall
@alanna_marshall___ . It was wonderful to work with such a fab team of absolute pros.
