Today we are mid way through a hoarder clean up. Almost everything in this property has to be removed. With 100 years of memories to sort through. We filled back to back skip bins until everything is removed.

One of the many jobs we do at STC is Intensive Cleans on hoarding. Hoarding is a very complex condition and is very common. Hoarding disorder often starts early in life. It is associated with some personality traits, such as perfectionism, not being able to make decisions and procrastination (delaying tasks until later, often by finding distractions). Perfectionism in hoarding is associated with fear of making mistakes and of later regret.
This can sneak under the radar of family and friends, and when discovered can be overwhelming and not quite know where to start. That’s where the incredible team at STC were assigned this job of clearing through parts of this property to help the resident (in a wheel chair from a stroke) get back on top of things. Sometimes a little head start like this can be life changing.
STC strive to take away any shame or awkwardness and give people the assistance they need. As our founder Sandra Pankhurst repeatedly said “Life can change, just like that”…
