Homes are something that adapt and change with time, as a reflection of their owner. I love how a space can shift with the seasons. Whether you have a space that needs a big shift, or a small shift, we can navigate those changes with respect to the original integrity of your space. Whether for a room, or an entire home, we want to create a beautiful space that will inspire you daily 🙏🏼 photography by @manicproject
It has been such a joy slowly collecting pieces that we truly treasure for this home. ✨Though it requires more patience to find the right items and the right artisans, it’s worth the wait when you see a space like this start to take shape. The wrap around table was custom made by the amazing El at @holywater_woodworks to hug the central hearth and function as an entry table as well as provide additional seating. She also made our dining table and is an absolute dream to work. We commissioned the art from our dear friend and talented artist @paigecanderson . The vintage chairs were an Etsy find shipped from France and the pottery was found at local second hand stores @thevillagevintageslc and @tomorrows_house ❤️ photos by my inspiring sister @veronicaolson
One of my favorite features of this home is the ceiling. Instead of having a peak in the middle, there is a subtle curve. It really shines in the kitchen with the Noguchi light. For some before photos of the eating area check out my story today. 📷 @veronicaolson
Taking inspiration today from @kaykollardesign . What a masterful use of color with the contrast of the bright blue and the warm wood tones. I love a very intentional and thoughtful color palette. 💙
It’s been a little quiet on this page, but loud in our home due to a new baby and a construction project. I’ve also been working on a few great homes locally and as always, searching out inspiration. It’s time to share more with you! This dining room by @studiohus is such a wonderfully unexpected, but simple combination of styles. How about that light fixture?
I have found myself pondering furniture and sustainability this morning. I certainly admit to having bought my fair share of cheaply made pieces in my life, but more and more find myself drawn to quality craftsmanship or reusing vintage pieces. I love that most of the items in our home are either vintage or crafted from solid wood. It takes more time, money, and effort to assemble a home this way, but I believe it is worth it. 🙏🏼 Once you’re in a home you intend to stay in long term, find pieces you love that will last!
Swooning over this space by @kierdesign 🥰 Those floors, windows and ceilings! Check out my story for an update on a current project where we are incorporating dark flooring. It can feel scary to bring in dark tones in today’s white washed, light wood world, but they can add such depth and warmth to a space!
There’s a lot to love from this gorgeous Los Angeles home designed by @hallworthandheathens and recently featured by @archdigest . This is one surprisingly simple image I keep coming back to, likely because I’m on a bit of a screen kick. This plant/screen pairing stopped me in my tracks when I first saw it! For the stunning images of this gorgeous project, check my stories. 👋🏼
The Koide House by Sutemi Horiguchi. We are starting our basement remodel soon. The basement has a weird layout with some existing sliding doors that I’m reworking to make more functional. I’ve been getting major inspiration from traditional Japanese homes and shoji screens 😍
I tend towards more natural palettes, but love a well placed burst of color. Here’s some color inspiration for us today from Anne Tyng’s Philadelphia residence. Photo by Annie Schlechter.
When we first bought our house, a few people thought we were bonkers. You can swipe through to see a before picture of the living room (facing the opposite direction) and you might understand why. 😁 What do you think now that the work is done, did we make the right choice? It’s so fun to finally have other people understand what you were seeing all along. 📷@manicproject
