The Welcome to Las Vegas Sign glowed green this morning in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. 💚
#ClarkCounty Commissioner Justin Jones recognized Boys Town Nevada for more than three decades of supporting children and families throughout the community through mental health programs, services and resources.
Today’s recognition served as a reminder of the importance of taking action to support mental health and ensuring families have access to the care and resources they need.
A new guardian has arrived at the gateway to Chinatown! 🐍✨
We are celebrating AANHPI Heritage Month at Fire Station 15 with the unveiling of a stunning new mural by renowned artist @amysol !
Known by local firefighters as the “Home of the Dragon Wagons,” the station now features a benevolent dragon inspired by Korean mythology. The celestial feature, a symbol of wisdom and protection, serves as a cultural guardian for the men and women who serve the Spring Mountain corridor everyday.
From the shimmering gold and copper scales to the traditional Dancheong color palette, every detail reflects the rich heritage of this neighborhood. This project is a vital part of our ongoing mission to revitalize Chinatown through art, infrastructure, and community pride.
Next time you’re at the corner of Valley View and Spring Mountain, stop by to see the newest landmark in District F! 🚒🎨

Pedestrian safety along Boulder Highway continues to be a top priority. 🚧
Commissioner Tick Segerblom joined LVMPD Captain Clark and Clark County Public Works Director Denis Cederburg this morning to discuss Clark County’s ongoing efforts to improve safety along the corridor through the installation of a new median barrier fence aimed at reducing dangerous mid-block crossings.
Clark County is investing more than $504,000 in safety improvements along Boulder Highway from East Desert Inn Road to East Flamingo Road, including chain link fencing, permanent safety signage, and additional infrastructure enhancements.
Construction began in early April and is expected to be completed by the end of June as part of the County’s continued commitment to creating safer roadways for everyone.

Today, we celebrated the strength, love, and everyday impact of moms in our community 💐
Hosted alongside Commissioner Justin Jones and Project Marilyn, this special gathering brought together local moms for a morning of celebration and care. Guests enjoyed brunch, relaxing massages from the European Massage School, line dancing, and plenty of photo booth moments- plus the opportunity to meet and connect with other mothers in a welcoming space.
To make the day even more accessible, children were welcomed too. While moms enjoyed a well-deserved brunch, kids spent time with Desert Breeze Community Center staff participating in arts and crafts, activities, and lunch of their own, with everyone coming back together at the end for a special group photo!
The event also marked the kickoff of Period Poverty Awareness Week, shining a light on an issue that impacts so many in our community. Project Marilyn works to combat period poverty by providing free menstrual products, advocating for access, and supporting individuals who may otherwise go without basic hygiene necessities.
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate motherhood while raising awareness and supporting a more equitable community. 💛
One week ago, we officially opened the Desert Breeze Ballfields and unveiled the new Mike Aker Adaptive Field. ⚾️❤️🧢
This project is about creating a space where children and adults of all abilities can play, be included, and enjoy the game together.
The ceremony was held on the adaptive field to kick things off, with the students of Roger Bryan Elementary School singing the National Anthem followed by the first pitches thrown by the Mike Aker family.
The fields came alive with games from Spring Valley Little League, Miracle League of Las Vegas, and the Fire vs. Police game that brought so much energy and excitement to the community.
This incredible project also includes an ADA-accessible playground, making the space even more welcoming and accessible for families throughout Clark County.
A huge thank you to former County Commissioner Larry Brown for helping make this vision a reality and to everyone who played a role in bringing these fields to life.
What an incredible day for our community and for the future of youth sports in Clark County.

Well, look who decided to wake up! Mojave Max is stirring in his burrow and will hopefully emerge soon. Max has NOT YET officially emerged, but he IS officially setting another NEW RECORD for his latest emergence. Last year he emerged on May 8th at 2:09. Here we are, on May 8th at 3:00pm and he’s still slow-rolling us all. Taunting us from just inside that condo he calls a burrow (4’ deep and 8’ long). Come on Max…we have prizes to give away to the Mojave Max Emergence Contest Winner, but we won’t know who that is until you get your hind end out of there. Max, needs some food, and water, and sunshine STAT. Happy Friday to everyone on Max Watch 2026! Stay tuned…
