We’re excited to have @clariloops and @meredithbeardmore sharing the stage and exploring sound at our next event on May 31st at @abbotsfordconvent Meredith Beardmore is a flute player who inhabits many genres, from baroque, folk, and improvised music. She plays exclusively on wooden, simple system flutes, finding the nuance, immediacy, and tactile nature of these flutes much more alluring. Meredith enjoys pushing this old instrument in new directions and combines it with field recordings & samples, improvisation and various sound manipulations. Her debut album, Scribbly Gums, was released in 2024 through Paris-based free music label Nunc and has been described as ‘hypnotic’ and ‘meditative’. Her second album, The Long Blue Horizon, is due for release in mid-2026. Clariloops is the project of Ruby Ester Mae through which she weaves clarinet melodies into layered electronic atmospheres. Drawing on a foundation in classical music and a deep passion for ambient electronica, Ruby uses clarinet, effects pedals, and synthesisers to create meditative sonic journeys that invite deep listening and introspection. Book a ticket in our bio. Can’t wait to see you there!

Join us on the last day of Autumn (Sunday 31 May) for a @warmmidsafternoon at the Oratory, Abbotsford Convent – a cosy, slow-moving afternoon with @_willebrant , @clariloops + @meredithbeardmore . This is not your standard gig. No stiff seats or standing awkwardly with a drink in hand. Instead, you’re invited to settle in. Bring a yoga matt/picnic rug, a cushion, blankets, perhaps something to read or make… or just lie back and soak up the sounds.  We'd love to see you there! Tickets through the link in our bio 🎶

'The Quiet Below' has been out for a whole month! This release was finished last year when this big baby next to me was still cooking, crazy how time flies. Thank you to everyone who has purchased and/or listened to the release. I've loved all your feedback, it's beautiful to hear where this music lands for you all. Drop a comment below what you think of it so anyone who hasn't heard it yet can get an idea what it's all about. Thanks again to Harry at @whitelabrecs for releasing this album! You can check it out on White Lab's bandcamp, or stream it wherever you get your music ❤️

Happy Wednesday! I had a lovely conversation with Australian-based clarinetist and composer Ruby Ester Mae (@clariloops ), whose LP The Quiet Below is out now. “I was constantly questioning why it was such an effort to enjoy that kind of music when everyone around me was listening to a symphony a day and having something interesting to say about it.” Read the interview here: /p/resonance-interview-clariloops #modernclassical #ambient #womeninmusic

It’s release day here with a brand new digital-only edition in the eRecords series called ‘The Quiet Below’ by Australian artist @clariloops This album features Ruby’s signature clarinet and synth combinations, which some may have enjoyed in her track for the recent ‘Shades’ vinyl compilation. This is an album that beautifully sits at the cross roads of the Whitelabrecs sound, balancing delicate electronics with organic, acoustic sounds. Earlier this month, with the help of her friend Kayleigh Hendon, a ceramicist and art therapist, Ruby held a live listening party of the album - which you can get a sense of here! 🎧 to listen to the whole album, click the link in the bio and select ‘Bandcamp’

This coming Saturday I’m excited to continue collaborating with @clariloops as we release her album ‘The Quiet Below’. Here’s a short preview of three of the tracks from the album, where you can get a sense of how Ruby, the artist, blends clarinet and synth to create beautiful Ambient pieces. The album will be the next instalment of the digital only eRecords series, complete with a bonus PDF booklet which is only available to those who download. Inside the booklet’s liner notes, Ruby tells us: “The music reflects the slowness, tenderness and quiet love of early parenthood; an exploration of stillness, presence and impermanence”.
