Extra special day today. 22 June, the day Chris was born, and the world became a better, brighter place 🌻 If love was all you needed, you’d still be in this world. Wish you were here ❤️🩹
“On Top of Rocks and Sand” is an 8-track album by Chris Willow @chriswillow and is now available across digital platforms.
I loved photographing Chris over the years, and it was always fun seeking out new locations to try get just the right picture or scene for a project, especially as DIY musicians. I thought I’d put together some of my favourite photographs from the photoshoot we did for the “On Top of Rocks and Sand” album. So here are just a few, starting with the album cover.
It’s hard to believe that tomorrow, 23 January, will be a year since Chris left this world. As we continue to try and navigate life without him, we also continue to honour him by sharing his music and sharing love.
In the end it’s just love xoxo

A message from the family and friends of Chris Willow:
Hello everyone
As many of you may already know, our beloved Chris departed this world on the 23rd of January, 2024. It is with heavy hearts that we, his family and friends, write to share this news here on his artist page.
We would love to share some words here about him and his music, and to let you know that a new album of his will be released soon.
Chris was a brilliant musician, and a loving husband, brother, friend, and son. He was universally loved and respected, and showed us what it meant to live honestly and with an open heart. Chris lived a life of profound empathy, infectious creativity, and sparkling humour. His gentle nature, sincerity, intellect, and trademark random acts of kindness, made him a unique and irresistible magnetic force in this world.
We are so proud of Chris for the courage, dignity, and grace with which he endured his long battle with depression. He always made time to give joy, warmth, and music to the people around him, despite his own struggles. While this news is painful – and our hearts are aching – we know that the world will remember our gorgeous Chris for his unwavering integrity.
Music and songwriting were everything to Chris, and he embodied what it meant to be an artist. For Chris, making music was a way of life; a way of processing life; a safe-space; and a vehicle through which he gave of himself, vulnerably, to the world – sharing stories with, and helping, others. We are grateful for his music that so poetically expresses the depth of the human experience. For those who may not be familiar, Chris released music under the names ‘Chris Willow’, ‘Lava Kiss’, and earlier in his life, ‘Chris Cape’.
