Today is the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. We’re shouting loudly that great mental health care isn’t just clinical, it’s human. It’s the kind voice at the end of the phone when you’re worried about rent and too unwell to work. It’s the adviser who listens actively, rather than waiting for their turn to speak. And it’s you reminding friends and loved ones that these contact details can save lives. Please share 💙

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we're focusing on why great mental health care is human. Here Grace celebrates meeting a doctor who treated her with respect.
Tell us who you want to thank most for having your back when you were struggling with your mental health, and what they did for you.
Share your messages in the comments this Mental Health Awareness Week so we can celebrate those who have suppoprted us when we’ve needed it most ⬇️
For Mental Health Awareness Week, we asked our community what they wished everybody knew about mental health. This is what you told us. If you’d like to add your own comments here please do!
Talk about how you’re feeling. No matter how big or how small your problems are. Talk to someone you trust and let them know what you’re going through. Such an important reminder from @brentfordfc player @jordanhenderson and @romankemp for Mental Health Awareness Week, as part of their ‘Talking is the Best Tactic’ initiative. You can also talk to our Infoline or find mental health information on our website. Accepting that you’re struggling can be hard. But it's the first step to getting support from friends, a GP or mental health services. Link in our bio for the full video.
It’s Mental Health Awareness Week 💙 Treat your mind with the same kindness you show other people.
Here are some things you can try to help look after yourself and improve your mental wellbeing.
*Carve out 15 minutes of your day to do something you find relaxing like colouring, watching TV or walking.
*Build a playlist of songs that bring you joy.
*When self-doubt creeps in, try to remember three small things that you’ve done well recently.
Thanks so much to @murphys_sketches for her beautiful illustration for Mental Health Awareness Week.
Visual description: A gorgeous illustration by murphys sketches to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week. Lots of red and yellow flowers gently blowing in the wind. In the middle, enclosed in a red heart at the top and a red heart at the bottom, are the words: Be kind to your beautiful mind.
Please never be embarrassed or too afraid to talk about your mental health. You’re tired from being strong. There’s nothing wrong with seeking assistance with getting along.
