If you watch anything this weekend 🥺 make it this. I actually don’t watch that many films 🙈 but I watched Remarkably Bright Creatures last night and I loved it so much 😭. This quote stopped me in my tracks because this has been me for the last year or so, I’m just going through the motions… getting through the day as best I can and I’ve forgotten to really live, to take it all in. It’s hard when you’re in pain to remember that life keeps going… I SOBBED. It’s really soooo moving. ❤️🐙

Can we just talk for a second about how it really feels to be a mum for most of us, most of the time…. Because it’s this 👆🏼 It’s constant overwhelm, it’s constant exhaustion, it’s too many things to do and not enough time, it’s trying to cling to every second of something that you want to enjoy but it’s draining you, it’s messy, it’s hard, it’s chaotic, there’s not a village in site. This, is how modern day motherhood feels. Too many plates spinning and the constant dread that one’s going to fall. I adore my children, I love being a mum, and I wouldn’t ever choose another life but it makes me so sad when I see people judging other parents when they don’t really know how it feels for most of us on a day to day basis. Less judgement, more lifting each other up! ❤️

Resharing this one this evening…. I think a lot of people in this little community know why 🙈 And I just want to tell you that if your child can’t do things that other children can YET, because of a disability or a difference, infact if they never ever do those things - which is a hard reality lots of SEN families face… you’re not lazy, you’re not distracted (infact I’d be willing to bet you have no choice but to pay attention 24/7 - that you’re SUPER conscious and vigilant when it comes to your child because you have literally no choice) you’re not taking an easy way out - you’re walking a path that’s so hard some people couldn’t even imagine what it feels like to get up and face it everyday. Even if your child doesn’t necessarily have that difference - all children learn grow and develop in different ways. They can’t be rushed. Being a parent is SO hard without the judgement of others making it any harder. Just remember that you are doing the very, very best you can and your child is so lucky to have you as their voice in a world that just doesn’t want to listen. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Life feels overwhelming because… it is! Life can be SO overwhelming. Infact I spend 99% of my life overwhelmed, I’m sure of it 🙈 Sharing some little tips that make me feel (slightly) better when my brain feels very fuzzy this Mental Health Awareness week. What would you add? 💛

I don’t believe for one second that there’s any human being out there who is immune to mental health struggles. We all suffer at some point in our life, for one reason or another.
