DRAG made its world premiere at @sxsw last night and the reviews have been…killer. You’re in for a wild ride with this one. It was such a joy to work with these talented people and explore a totally different kind of character than what I’m used to playing.

2016 - the year my life changed. Instagram is a highlight reel. It’s impossible to post the good, the bad, and the ugly in 20 slides. But I’ll never forget this year 💛
1. I found my dog Cali on Craigslist
2. We just spent 2k on vet bills from our previous puppy that passed away in surgery over Xmas. Cali was my light🐕
3. My pilot the year before didn’t get picked up. I was in debt from taking off of work to shoot it. Pilot season had started and I was back to driving UberX. I’d wake up at 5am so I could get airport rides, those paid the most and I didn’t have to drive late at night
4. I started losing chunks of hair from the stress. Felt impossible to have a full time job and audition so the debt kept growing
5. I’d party when my gfs would spot me. @hanna_kim and Marci bought countless drinks and dinners to help me get by ❤️
6. I saved all my auditions and wrote notes casting directors would give me. when you drove around LA to make 3 auditions back to back. Yes there were more auditions, yes it was hard as hell to memorize 36 pages a day
7. Lived at @marcikays to offset rent
8. Booked The Great Indoors Pilot
9. Still love this cast to this day
10. Worked on another project after bc I’d gone through this before. Nothing was guaranteed
11. day I got the call that I’d have my first steady acting job. There is no feeling than this moment. I’ve never cried so hard. Financially I couldn’t support myself as an actor anymore and this changed everything.
12. I took a screenshot of my bank account that day. I’m not proud of it but I was swimming in debt from going all in on acting. After TGI, I paid off my student loans, finally went to the dentist, and paid my credit card bills.
And the rest - Dad was still around ❤️ saved little moments that helped me get through this season. I’ve watched the last 2 videos about a hundred times. It’s hard to have balance when you’re in this line of work. I get it. Keep going* I wish you luck 💛💛💛
