Casey Newton (@crumbler ) out here casually EXPOSING Kevin Roose (@kevinroose ). This is why Snafu is the most salacious podcast in America!
Check out part 2 of my breakdown of the Cambridge Analytica data harvesting scandal with brilliant journalists Kevin and Casey of NYT’s @hardforkpod , out now at link in bio #snafu #hardfork
If Mark Zuckerberg said he could do a surprise interview with you but you only had 20 minutes to prepare, would you skip lunch? Or would you still make room for dessert?
This week on SNAFU, I’m joined by tech reporting icons Casey Newton (@crumbler ) and Kevin Roose (@kevinroose ) of the NYTimes podcast Hard Fork (@hardforkpod ) to discuss one of the biggest data harvesting scandals in internet history: Cambridge Analytica! Link in bio 👍 #hardfork #snafu
There is no such thing as “too much fiddle.” That’s just science.
In the latest post from @thebluegrasssituation , the brilliant @rachelbaiman (songwriter, fiddler, and all-around excellent human) points us toward ten absolute ringer fiddlers (a few of whom you’ve probably already heard without realizing it!).
From the West Coast to the Carolinas, these are the folks absolutely tearing it up while all we can do is just listen with a slack-jawed stare.
Dive into the full list, videos, and stories over at BGS - hit the link in bio and prepare to become a better, more fiddle-aware person. 🎻

You hear that, folks? Only the best and most unique Labubus for Bowen Yang (@fayedunaway )!
Join me and Bowen this week on Snafu, where we go back to the 17th century to discuss the very first economic bubble in history, when the Dutch went mad for… tulips. Check it out at link in bio #bowenyang #snafu
That’s a wrap! 🫧 “@circles.movie hooked me with its deceptively simple concept and the way it challenges how couples communicate. Ariel and Sam have created something intimate, unsettling and darkly funny in the best way. It’s the kind of story that really lingers with you, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be onboard.” - @edhelms
A great moment with Ed Helms about Owen Wilson asking him for a line read (which apparently never happens). Such a small thing, but generous and unprecious. A good reminder that making something better often means letting other people help.
This is my formal petition to add “Galifianakish,” used to describe all things reminiscent of my good pal Zach Galifianakis, to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary 😂
This week, @radiolab founder and my fellow @oberlincollege alum Jad Abumrad (@jadabumrad ) joins me on SNAFU, where we discuss the doomed Polaris expedition of 1871 and the mysterious murder of its captain, Charles Francis Hall (who is quite Galifianakish). Out now at the link in bio
Here’s a Monday treat - a sampling of what’s been playing in my earbuds, courtesy of @goodcountry_ at @thebluegrasssituation . From @catclyde to @ellalangleymusic , it’s the perfect selection of tunes to start your week off right. Check these out and more at the link in bio!
Oh, Boston… you haven’t changed, even since the Revolutionary War!
On this episode of Snafu I’m joined by author and @theavettbrothers band member Bob Crawford (@bobcrawfordbass ), where we go back in time to 1776 to discuss British loyalist Lord Dunmore’s epic blunder that unintentionally rallied support for the colonists. Check it out at link in bio #snafu #bobcrawford
Calling all history buffs! I recently had the honor of being interviewed for the CNN Original Series, STANDOFF: THE FBI, POWER AND PARANOIA, where I returned to the riveting story of the Citizens’ Commission to Investigate the FBI that I covered in SNAFU season 2.
The four episode series will focus on the fragile relationship between FBI Directors and the Presidents they serve, from the mid-20th century to the present day.
Check out the clip to see a snippet of my interview, then head over to CNN tonight at 9 pm ET/PT to watch the first two episodes. The final two will air the following Sunday (3/29) at the same time. Episodes will also be available every Monday following release on CNN.com, and then on HBO Max 30 days afterwards. #cnn #fbi #snafu
Lucinda Williams (@lucinda_williams ) is the artist of the month over at @thebluegrasssituation , and I can’t think of a musician more deserving of the spotlight. Seriously - her raw, poetic songwriting has bridged folk, country, blues, and rock for decades, and few songwriters have shaped the sound of Americana quite like her. She’s also a three-time GRAMMY winner, no biggie 😂
Check out this clip of Williams singing her song, “The World’s Gone Wrong” on @colbertlateshow joined by @brittneyspencer , then head on over to link in bio to see BGS interview Williams about her new album.
Should @roryscovel and I start a podcast where we just compliment each other for an hour? Is there an audience for that!?
Not sure, but on this episode of Snafu, we dive deep into the story of Ivan Boesky, the infamous Wall Street crook who inspired Gordon Gekko. Check it out now at link in bio!
