I’m still not really over Thursday.
Being asked to perform my mix and mingle magic at a Royal Garden Party in the garden of Buckingham Palace is truly a surreal pinch me moment.
Walking around the garden of one of the world’s most iconic buildings having been asked to perform and do what I love… my head is on Mars.
The Kings Trust (@kingstrust ) are celebrating 50 years this year and, as some of you may know, I did their enterprise course in 2019 to help me learn about what it takes to run a business. Without them, Chris Reads Minds wouldn’t exist, and I wouldn’t have had many of the amazing opportunities I’ve had. I can never be grateful enough.
And I was there to work as part of the 50 year celebrations.
I got to see a few of the amazing staff who supported me on that journey (though not all of them, ALASTAIR AND JOAN WHERE ARE YOU!?) and ran into some of the amazing business owners I’ve met at events or courses on this journey. No more so than @kamcreates who was on the first course I did alongside me, and is thriving with her amazing jewellery.
I got to perform for tons of people and so many celebrities that I did and did not recognise at the time until after (my apologies to Vikkst*r, Sam Thomps*n and Pixie L*tt 😅 - I don’t want them seeing this). However a highlight for me was getting to meet, perform, and say “Thank You” to Middlesbrough and England Legend, Sir Gareth Southgate. He has given me some of the best moments of my life in a Boro shirt and as England manager and so getting to shake his hand for those was fantastic.
I also got to thank Steven Frayne (formerly Dynamo) who was the inspiration behind me getting involved with the Trust as on a podcast said he worked with them to launch his business and I remember thinking - well it worked out for him…
And I got recognised by Charlotte Tilbury from the work I’ve done with her and her company in the past, which felt like the wrong way round.
I didn’t take many photos as I was working but the good ones I did get are here.
Thank you for everything Kings Trust, see you at the 60th?
Took a bit of a break. What an honour to be back performing today for Katie and Emily’s wedding.
Especially an honour as Emily is a wonderful friend so being asked to be part of their special day was truly special.

Chris is a mind-reader.
He’s been using FreeAgent since day one.
Doing finance admin shouldn’t require supernatural powers.
BBC One presenter Dom Littlewood sat down with him to chat Making Tax Digital for Income Tax.
No magic tricks.
No smoke and mirrors.
Just a simpler way to stay on top of finances.

Right now though - it’s wedding day for R&J who couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day.

A very special celebration for S&S who got married in secret 🤫 Today’s celebration was billed as a summer party but really about their wedding.
A lovely day of surprises #weddingmagician

The gorgeous venue always adds to any good weather @thebarnyardkent
Two days, two weddings, two incredibly great couples. Now… wine and sleep.

At weddings. The most popular time I perform is during the wedding reception. The second most popular is during the wedding breakfast. The last is the evening arrivals after the meal before the cake cutting.
Today I’m performing during the reception and when the evening guests are arriving.
Going to be a super exciting day.
