Today is World AIDS Day, commemorated in the arts community as Day With(out) Art. As an artist and educator living with HIV, it's important to me to remind you that HIV/AIDS is still a global threat - in 2024, there were 1.3 million new HIV infections, bringing the total number of people living with HIV to 40.8 million. Don't let Trump and his administration undo all the work that's been done to reduce HIV infections (down 40% since 2010); with PrEP, testing, and treatment, we can end new HIV cases by 2030. NEW PROJECT ALERT! Over the spring, I was enrolled in "Seeing Pink: The Queer Perspective in Photography," a course at the International Center of Photography co-taught by the amazingly talented and insightful Richard Renaldi (@renaldiphotos ) and Ian Lewandowski (@ilewando ) and filled with the best and brightest new queer photographers.
While in the class, I embarked upon a new portrait project, photographing members of the queer community at @smfaattufts . While I'm still figuring out what this project will ultimately look like, I love these initial portraits and I'm eternally grateful to those who've agreed to be photographed by me so far.
This project is ongoing (though I've finished my MFA program, I'll be at SMFA for another year as a Post-Graduate Teaching Fellow), so if you're LGBTQIA+ and a member of the SMFA community, please slide into my DMs to schedule a portrait session. And Happy Pride!! 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

And just like that, I have an MFA. Too wiped to say much more right now, but I'm feeling proud of this accomplishment and grateful to everyone who provided love, encouragement, and support along the way. On to the next adventure... after a long nap.
My time in grad school is coming to a close!
Enjoy some behind-the-scenes images from the making of my thesis exhibition, "I Just Want Them to Know That They Didn't Break Me." The studio portrait is by Cat Lent (@ caitlinlent ) and my thesis cover is a vintage school photo of yours truly.
Our MFA thesis show, "Through Shifting Lenses," opens on Tuesday. "Through Shifting Lenses” presents the work of 14 graduating Masters of Fine Arts students from the School of The Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at Tufts: Lu Adami, Foster Boyajian, Chris Diani, Schuyler Dragoo, Richard Farrell, Hanniie, Ari Grubb, Katie He, Yining Lee, Peyton Michelle, Yulia Niu, Anguo Ping, Megan Weeda, and MiJung Yun.
The exhibition invites audiences to traverse a kaleidoscopic series of shifting perspectives on space, time, identity, and imagination. Bringing together works that span scale, mediums, and multitudes, these artists compose a picture of thoughtful invention and unbridled enthusiasm for the making of new worlds in the face of uncertainty. The show is guest curated by cultural producer, designer, and curator Kimberli Meyer and organized by Alexi Antoniadis, Dina Deitsch, Madeline Ditzler, Laurel Nakadate, and Kenson Truong.
It's on view May 6–18 at Tufts University Art Galleries in Medford. The public reception is happening on Friday, May 16 from 5-8PM at TUAG / Medford (Aidekman Arts Center).
