Site #3 of our two-year project, “Being Seen: Celebrating SouthCoast Pride” has wrapped up its indoor exhibition while the exterior public art installation continues through spring.
Here’s a few shots from the show if you didn’t get to make it over to the fabulous Marion Art Center. What an uplifting exhibition to present during the cold winter months. Thank you to the +1,400 guest that came out to view the project. Site #4 will be announced soon!
For further reading of the exhibition content and the people we honor in the show, visit /beingseen/ to check out our extended online exhibition.
Thank you to E.D. Jodi Stevens and the @marionartcenter Board for hosting DATMA. Special recognition to our guest curator who organized the ancillary exhibition of local LGBTQIA+ artists, Kate Frazer Rego @katefrazerrego

@oursistersschool rocks!
George Summers Jr. conducted an inspiring journaling workshop with DATMA on Saturday demonstrating design techniques as well as insight to finding and developing a creative subject matter.
- write a letter to a ghost
- write the words of the child in you.
- Find the life in every town.
- Don’t obsess over chronological order.
- React, then figure it out later.
- Create from a place of silence.
- Place an image as a marker to be revisited at a later date.
- oh, and the important one, check your pockets for glue sticks before doing your laundry. đź‘– đź‘•
Big thanks to our main supporter for this workshop, the Marion chapter of the Mass Cultural Council @masscultural that allowed us to offer this workshop to participants at no cost among other important workshop expenses. Additional thanks to our hosts at the @marionartcenter who offer only the best programs, classes, events, and exhibitions. We were proud to partner with the MAC on this workshop.
Our new Studio Safety Tech, Fallon is breaking in DATMA’s design equipment with mixed media painter, Jackie Fournier Se’Ale. We got to work with Jackie in the @hotelpapel program. You can see some of her work on @jackieseale.art Let’s see how working with our laser might add to her next painting.
