A long weekend in Utah, a long run through the desert. What an incredible way to experience this part of the country for the first time.
Arrived home with shoes full of red dust. Thanks, Moab!
Snapshots from the very full year that was 2025. Daily walks, @library_nineteen filled with friends and sunlight, local watering holes, @cohere_co work jaunts through small town PA, and bubbles for @bar.alice.anne . A nice time capsule to open.
Corner bars have long anchored neighborhoods, offering respite and fostering connection throughout the changing seasons and years. Katie and I have always found sanctuary in these spaces, but never imagined we’d be part of shaping one so close to home. I find myself reflecting on the serendipity of it all, how rare and special it is to embrace uncertainty and build shared trust with Kevin and Liz as a vision continues to take shape. It just feels natural.
Even in these early stages, this little corner has already opened doors: new neighbors, new connections, and new friendships formed through a shared challenge. It’s a privilege to honor the history of this space - a corner that has seen so much come and go, from coal chute deliveries & streetcars to modern times.
As the year winds down, we’re looking ahead to 2026 with gratitude for the new relationships already forming, for those who came before, and for all who will someday pull up a stool @bar.alice.anne and make it their own.
Thankful for the support and trust of @antoinette_mariej and @erikoberholtzer as @cohere_co has given me the platform to learn and to tackle what energizes me both personally and professionally + @kuopaolian for the guidance and encouragement - his own vision for investment in Fell's Point has taught me what it takes to proactively engage with the spaces around us.
If we don't, who will?
(Don't worry, the green and yellow are on their way out.)
The hospitality and earnestness of the people behind @stonwallmarathon made this trip truly special. A small race that fills a small town for one weekend, we were welcomed and shown a special place with pride. Traveling centered around an event like this, we got to meet people from all over the world who had the same idea and mindset.
The route took us over medieval walls and down the Adriatic coast, often alone for miles at a time. Coming together at the end to share goulash and beer out of plastic cups, the local volunteers continued to beam with joy as they told us more about their little slice of the world.
The "queen of the marathon" that day- Katie will never brag, but her mental toughness and humble fortitude is always inspiring to me. Even when she's leaving me cramped and hobbling in the dust ❤️
@piklstudio is steering @library_nineteen ‘s return to public life. In our latest story, @chris____richards (Cohere) and @kuopaolian (PI.KL) talk about place, memory, and what it takes to bring a civic building back into daily use. From preserving immigrant histories to reimagining how historic spaces serve a new generation, Library 19 is opening its doors again as a site for ideas, makers, and community.
Next up at Library 19: @goodneighborshop Design Camp will host Hands & Archive on Thursday, September 11—an evening conversation with Sanam Sindhi of South Asia Archive, exploring the preservation of cultural memory through film and archival practice. Full details and RSVP through @goodneighborshop .

August on a slider. Full of more trail miles and more time outdoors in our parks, and I couldn't be happier to have a new way to engage with running, or the world in general.
The smell of the woods in the summer always brings back very good childhood memories - things you don't really smell when you're steeped in city life. Dusty leaves.
I also found a new way to engage with the harbor. Falling overboard...and it's not so bad either :)
The weather was unreasonably pleasant for our shake-out run along Galway's narrow streets and waterfront promenade. The morning before @connemarathon stood in total contrast to the race ahead.
It's shocking just how close the vast expanse of Connemara is to the city. The bus deposited us there, huddled, mingling with first timers and veterans who considered this their own backyard. What a backyard!
No music. No crowds. A few sheep. Mile after mile ticked by (what's a kilometer) and the weather slowly improved. The rain had already fallen, leaving little streams where I imagine they aren't usually. In full sun, this would be totally different.
We stuck together the whole time. Not literally; a bit of yo-yoing, but always checking in with a few words. She pulled me up the final hill.
A month later, and it has not left my mind for one reason or another. At a certain point, you have to make up milestones for yourself because time just keeps going. I hope there are many more like this one to follow!
I love connecting people. It's always fun to play a bit of a matchmaker in my role with @cohere_co . And this week, I got to introduce some of my favorite people in Baltimore to the special place that is @library_nineteen with friends and creative collaborators @kuopaolian@shawn_chopra@erikoberholtzer
You never know how one little gathering, a conversation, or maybe even a pint, can open up a whole new path toward something. That's Baltimore at its best, and the people in this room are each examples of that spirit.
It never rains in a pub.
There's a reason these places have stood unchanged for hundreds of years. Genuine warmth, full of character, and nothing pretentious about them. Basically the definition of timeless.
What I appreciate most is the way that they are comfortable without holding your hand. Find your own little corner, shuffle a stool, stand by the rail. Or by the door. Come and go as you please. Live music, or maybe none at all.
The hospitality is there when you want it, but nothing is forced. In my opinion, that's pretty hard to beat.
Thank you, Dublin and Galway, for these institutions.

Hit 999 miles for the year. What a pleasure it is to find something that is as communal as it is individual. Something that connects you so immediately to your surroundings. Mindless or as mindful as you need it to be.
Life's not a race, but it is pretty fun to go faster sometimes :)
