Working on a few projects atm and unearthed my second ever “proper” MTB.
Back in 1999, when I turned 16, my parents very generously gave me £2k towards a car. Instead, I bought a frame and forks. Priorities.
Hanging on the wall in Solent Cycles Southampton, there it was- a GT LTS 3000 Ltd Edition, and strategically placed right next to it were a set of RockShox Judy DHO’s. Of course I had to have both.
A few months later, after piecing together enough cheap parts to get it rolling, I was off…
Over a long period of time, I managed to save up enough to get each part I wanted, no.1 being the
@dmrbikes chain guide.
I later changed the forks to Marzocchi Z1 Bams in 2016 for another old skool project.
Looking at it now, I can’t believe the geometry on this thing, absolutely awful by modern standards, but back then, it sure was the was coolest thing on earth.
What a throwback.
(I wish I had a wheel truer back then, jeeze) 😂
