Today on BikeBound.com: “StarFire” 2200cc 5-Cylinder Radial, built from scratch by Tim and Cheryl Oakley of the UK. Tim — an aircraft engineer — and Cheryl started building jet engines before they moved to the StarFire. “It’s amazing what is happening in sheds around our little island. In fact Starfire was actually built outside on our decking through the brutal winter we had a few years ago in the snow.” -Tim The donor bike was Cheryl’s Yamaha Virago 750, though there’s very little of the XV left! StarFire is something of a tribute to Tim’s father, an engineer himself. “My father, an incredible engineer, saw the whole project through and it was the greatest honour for me to take him on his last ride out on StarFire to his final resting place — she did us proud!” Photos: @roga______ at @kickback.magazine.and.events . GLORY DAZE: Choppers & Bobbers! For 2025, the annual Glory Daze Motorcycle Show returned to the 42-acre Pittsburgh Brewing Company campus, home of event partner Iron City Beer. The former Pittsburgh Glass Works plant has been transformed into an enormous 170,000 square-foot brewery and event space. For “one groovy weekend” each year in late September, the space brims with custom motorcycles of every style and stripe. “Glory Daze is a creative explosion of motorcycles and good vibes. The annual show features a curated invitational exhibit with artistically crafted vintage and custom bikes from builders both local and throughout North America.
