I’m back @chookchicken ! It is a local favorite for Australian-style rotisserie chicken, co-founded by James Beard Award-winning chef Alex Seidel. The name “Chook” is actually Aussie slang for chicken. What’s on the Menu The food focuses on simplicity and high-quality ingredients, with plenty of options for different dietary needs (including a lot of gluten-free and vegetarian choices). * The Chicken: Slow-roasted over charcoal. You can grab a quarter, half, or whole bird, seasoned with their signature “Chook Salt.” * Veggie Sides: They are known for being more than just a “chicken shack.” The Charred Mixed Veggies, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, and Mac & Cheese are staples. * Unique Sauces: Don’t miss the Matcha Sauce (spicy/tangy) or the Chimichurri. I love both. The Mission Chook is a certified B Corp, meaning they hit high standards for social and environmental impact. They source humanely-raised chickens from Colorado farms and donate 1% of all sales back to the local community. It’s the kind of place where the food is fast-casual, but the sourcing is fine-dining level. This particular location opened in Feb 2022. It’s my fave location.
