O! REJOICE! Throw your arms to the planets and put aside your doubting mind! As we move ever closer through the spring into solar climax, our gears are turning widdershins - we are only here to help you. We have two gigs in the merry month of May: Next Sunday (03/05) we return once more to Sounds From The Other City (@sftoc @witchthebeauty ), downstairs at The Old Pint Pot A couple of weeks later on a steamy Monday night (18/05) we share the black stage of The Peer Hat (@thepeerhat ) with some stinky punks and contrarians of all sorts, namely - Bombstrap (@bombstrap.rotterdam ), Grief School (@grief.school ) and National Crisis (@national_crisis ) Photos from our gig at The George Tavern a couple of weeks back by @shootthevibe

Tickets on DICE now- On April 9th, All Spells presents an evening of experimental folk and more, featuring the bog-trawl of Sodden Pelt, banjo and guitar duo The Pegwells, Chermansog’s electronic noise-folk horror and The Late Joe Bowman’s experimental maximalism. This will be an evening best described in the most pretentious way as ‘immersive’; artists will perform on the floor amongst the fog and dim light of @thegeorgetavern - You are welcome to stand where you like and soak in the music however you wish. Between each act records will be selected and spun from the artists perfoming and the All Spells collection to create a consistent atmosphere of the folk spirit in all its forms; expect noise/drone/electronic/country/folk/alternative and much much more. featuring @sodden_pelt @thepegwells @chermansog and @thelatejoebowman

Seasonal Greetings to all from everyone at Chermansog. We hope that you all have had a reflective and restorative solstice and that you can find some light at this darkest time of year. Now is the time for clinging to hope, for new beginnings and for the burning of the old world, inside and out. One small announcement: from now on this account will exist purely for updates and content related to the project Chermansog. If you want to follow me (Hadden) personally then my new account will be @lunar.bog . Chermansog began as a solo project back in 2018 but since then it has evolved a lot and has become an entity I wouldn’t dare attempt to control by myself. In the future I’d like to expand the project to be more communal and collaborative than it already has been becoming. We have some great announcements coming in the following weeks and days, as well as big ambitions for 2026. Lots of love. Love is the Law. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and more love

Hi all, tomorrow evening (Sunday 20th) I’ll be DJing again at @cafeblah ; I’m going to start doing a ‘record of the month’ type thing, listening to one record in full and then just playing other bits, bobs and curiosities until the end. For this first month we’ll be listening to ‘Escalator Over The Hill - A Chronotransduction’ (1971). This intense and eclectic record, dubbed as a jazz opera, is the work of composer Carla Bley and poet Paul Haines and performed by The Jazz Composer’s Orchestra. Pulling on such disparate genres as free jazz, Indian classical, rock n roll and theatre music, the record also features a stacked lineup featuring Don Cherry, Jack Bruce (Cream), Don Preston (Mothers of Invention), Charles Haden, John McLaughlin and a then-unknown Linda Ronstadt amongst a host of other talent. Although this can be a challenging listen in places (apologies in advance to those who just want to get a quiet coffee in Withington on a Sunday), this is a fascinating recording and a truly astonishing achievement. I’ll be starting at around 6.30 ish, would be delighted if you joined me in listening to one of my favourite records. God bless.
