In order to make good food more accessible, food justice writer and advocate @markbittman and @chefmavisjay have launched a pilot program in New York City called @communitykitchennyc , which for a limited time is offering fine dining on a sliding scale. Customers pay what they can - $15, $45, or $125. It's a model they hope to open in a permanent version in Manhattan and beyond. @poguester reports.

I can’t admit to having processed the last 4 months of my life, let alone the past two years. Yesterday was my last day at Drive Change. The Young Hearts Leadership Council traded city streets for rows of kale and sun‑warmed strawberries on their field trip to @heermancefarm ! From greenhouse tastings to trout‑catching, our youth volunteer leadership got a firsthand look at how good food, shared together, can make all the difference. 🥬🥕🥦   Established in 1730, Heermance Farm has been a steadfast partner to God’s Love We Deliver for years, donating beautiful produce that becomes the medically tailored meals we cook for neighbors affected by illness. They even hosted our 40th anniversary celebration, proving once again that community grows strongest when it’s rooted in generosity! ❤️ We chose a beautiful sunny day for our visit and were greeted by a verdant, vibrant gazpacho and fresh corn muffins upon our arrival, courtesy of Culinary Council Member @chefmavisjay 🫶   Watching our young leaders explore the farm felt like a full‑circle moment, a reminder that Food is Medicine and Food is Love. Thank you to Heermance Farm owners Neil and Marika Bender for generously sponsoring this visit, to Chef Mavis-Jay Sanders for her thoughtfully crafted provisions, and to the Heermance team of Camila, Kevin, Tyreek, and Adriana for being wonderful hosts.
