🔩 EMT LANTERN💡 A loose blend of scaffolding logic and washi paper lanterns, this piece was really an excuse to explore a new medium in metal (and to build a lamp for my nightstand). EMT conduit is typically used for routing electrical wire, but here it became an inexpensive frame ($7 // 10ft), cut down to size with a tube cutter from the comfort // safety of my desk. The shade came from a rip-stop nylon top pulled from a recent wardrobe purge. The build itself was fairly straightforward, taking a few hours after assembling all the components. Stepping away from the Adobe suite and into hands-on making always feels grounding. Tried not to overthink this one, but quite pleased with how it came together 🧘‍♂️

DNF —> BQ From collapsing at mile 23 last November, to crossing the finish line yesterday (and every moment of self-doubt in between), it’s been an emotionally testing last 12 months. A huge thanks to @drew_wartenburg + @next_best_run for the guidance on how to train and race safely, all the while pushing personal limits, and to @freeartsnyc for having me on the team. Grateful to finally turn the page on the @nycmarathon - and eager to see what’s next 😈 ⏱️ 2:52:30

Made a nightstand this past week. The piece is called “Cliffhanger”, a nod to the object’s form, but also to my uncle and grandfather (both named Cliff) - their boundless imagination and creativity continues to inspire me to this day. This was a fun build, and I’d love an excuse to make another, so reach out if you have any interest in adding a new piece to your home 🪵

After picking up a minor injury, and with a bit more time on my hands, I took on a personal project that originated in my sketchbook four years ago.
The idea- building a media cabinet, specced to seamlessly integrate my existing hardware, equipped with concealed compartments.
From technical drawing, to SketchUp model, to cutting/sanding/assembling/staining/finishing this piece, there were plenty of learnings during my first true woodworking project (I’m still dusting everything I own), but we’re quite pleased with the final outcome.

Shoutout to r/woodworking and Jeff Sr. for the assists🧰🛠️🔊

Since the immense disappointment of not completing the nyc marathon in november, crossing the finish line at my next race became a top priority. I did not expect that to happen while running through the tape at 3AM this Friday, but proud of the moment, and the work as I continue to build up to 26.2 🙏 Thank you @orchardstreetrunners for the experience - easily the most fun I’ve had running! 🥖 #OSRBRR 🏃‍♂️ #ORCHARDSTREETRUNNERS 📸 @justinsorensen_ (1) + @samuelmtrimble (2-4)

Had the pleasure of working with @villagesoccershop on a collaborative tee for their latest @cosmickiteclub offering 📟 This design was born from a constellation of influences, from the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel to a certain mobile phone company’s recent rebranding. But of course, the primary source of inspiration for this design came 37 years ago to the day, on that scorching afternoon at Estadio Azteca, when a certain Argentinian magician conjured up two goals that defied logic. On its anniversary, it’s that infamous first goal that we decided to showcase in 1-bit glory, longing for simpler times, when VAR didn’t exist, SNAKE took up most of our screen time, and the Cosmic Kite was still creating miracles on the pitch.

Yesterday, the first installment of @Timberland Future73 — @clot //@edisonchen — became available to the public. To see the visual system for the program that @sayokoosada and I designed (last spring) in the physical world, on tangible items, is pretty wild. Look forward to seeing how this evolves as drops are released throughout the year. 1. Packaging Design 2. Apparel Product Labels 3. Modular Box Labels (tailored to each collaborator/release) 4. Apparel Hangtags 5/6. In-Store Install #Timberland50 #Future73

Last week, Timberland’s 50th Anniversary officially launched across the brand’s social channels, worldwide. In conjunction, @Timberland announced Future73, a collaboration platform that sees six creatives, @design.by.samuelross , @ninachanel , @edisonchen , @humberto , @suzanne.oudehengel and @christopher.raeburn , reimagine their 6-inch boot - the 10061. I had the immense honor, alongside @sayokoosada , of designing the brand’s 50th Anniversary Logo, as well as the entire visual identity for #Future73 Concurrently, @mfburch + @skygellatly and the @ICNCLST team were ideating, copywriting, and devising the overall strategy for F73, in collaboration with Timberland. It’s so exciting to see our work out in the world after two years of assembling many puzzle pieces that went into #Timberland50. This is just the start! I’ll be sharing more applications as they are revealed throughout the year 👨‍🍳
