The @independentcinemaoffice closes the first year of the Working Class Film Festival with its Uncommon Voices showcase screening from 6.30pm on Sunday 10th of May.
This selection of recent short films starts a conversation about how working class filmmakers are capturing working class experience in the Britain of today, spanning documentaries, flights of fancy and realism.
We are also very pleased to be joined by Northern film maker Paul Chambers who will offer insights and answer questions about his craft.
This showing is included as part of the Sunday Day pass, available for the Working Class friendly £13.50 from the @showroom_cinema box office and website now.

"Juddy storms into a Chinese chippy after a furious voicemail from his mother. He owes money. He owes pride. He owes the version of himself his father once expected."

Last week I spent a week in Shropshire, on the @sonafilms22 Gatecrashers feature film development lab.
An amazing experience with some really talented people (listed below).
Picture 2, the first person I met. A local man who was forced into early retirement because of an old injury from an industrial accident. After a lifetime spent labouring in a steel works factory. He was in the cafe for his sunday dinner (on a monday, the cafe owner made it especially for him)
The irony of meeting that man before this programe.

I made this music video for @werkha_music & @daudi . we shot in a temperate rain forest in Wales, projecting Daudi's face into nature and using pedoscans of Tom's back to add layers of texture to one of the most stunning locations I've ever shot in.
Sometimes it's easy to forget to enjoy the process of making something, to not obsess over the finished product but let the making process dictate the outcome... which in this case worked beautifully.

We set out to explore something beautiful.. how nature and recovery dance with one another.
The weather cleared, we were all available, and so 5 of us wondered into some beautiful temperate rainforest, with a projector, a load of filming equipment, and a a collection of loose ideas to create what i think is a fittingly beautiful video.
These rainforests are places of recovery and in need of it themselves, akin to the themes of mine and Daudi's song 'Narrow In'
The colour wash across the footage is from a pedoscan image of my back - see artwork for 'Everyday' single feat. @rioghnachconnolly
The lines we projected onto surfaces were also manipulated by @jerralerra from a contour line esque pedoscan - see 'S-Bend' artwork
And Daudi's face became projected onto mossy rocks, bramble leaves, forest canopy and waterfalls
Huge thanks to @chamberspaul on pulling this one together. A really beautiful job.
Go and give this beautiful piece some love. Stick it on your tv. Watch it on the bus home with your headphones.
You can watch the full music video for 'Narrow In' on my YouTube channel
Be absorbed into it.
Finally, thanks @zzzakia for another spin on the radio and big love for the continued support to all the radio djs on this one

I recently shot this teaser alongside director @_christopherbaker for the @alpinerunproject & @sportsshoes brand collaboration.
Shooting with the trail runners at a training camp in preparation for @marathondumontblanc
Loved running around Wales with these guys, such a great organisation that transforms lives through getting people running in nature.
