‘Gathering for a Gathering’ is a live performance recorded at Cafe OTO. Alongside it is a live video, shot on the night by @marain.visuals then given to @sebastian_muller94 who worked on some amazing visuals…. together, the audio, the artwork, the visuals and the live footage perfectly encapsulates The Ceann Capaill show, from an Idea which was floating around in my head some time ago, to being brought to life in this physical and human form.. as always I can’t seem to thank my friends and musical collaborators in this project enough… Allister Kellaway, James Osler, Leo Clarke and on this particular night we had Ross Chaney on the drums.. this was the first time we all played live together, and because of that, I feel we captured a raw and unfiltered take, the way it should be, and the way in which we are moving forward with this project. “ʟᴀꜱᴛ ᴢᴏᴏ ᴏɴ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏᴏɴ” 🐘 first track to be released from 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑰𝒅𝒚𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏 🌺 recorded in a day with dec haughian (@awk_well ) of the brill @ceanncapaill 🫶 no pre-conceived ideas going in, moves conjured on the day we layered up a crop of first takes on a whim, picked off the instruments one by one & treated them on the spot, final mix by the evening ✨ released here in an EP with 3 bonus slabs not on the album - “sweeter reddish” got repurposed for the final track, “pinwheel” took a less electronic form in the end, & “swords” got welded together the other night using samples & stems from the album album out 15 may with @vivariumrecordingsllc
