Very happy that my painting ‘Fearing No Abyss’ was acquired by Fidelity Investments Art Collection, Boston MA, USA from @kevinkavanaghgallery at EXPO Chicago 2026 @expochicago The Fidelity Investments Corporate Art Collection was started in 1980 and comprises over 12,000 works displayed in their offices in 35 countries. It is one of the key corporate art collections in the world and employs museum standards in acquisition and maintenance of the collection. . I’m very happy to announce that my new album as A Lilac Decline is released today on @rustedrail_records !! Aside from working as a visual artist I make music occasionally and A Lilac Decline has grown from being just me (it’s an anagram of my own name) to becoming a three piece on this album with Brian Kelly on drums and Keith Wallace on bass. The sound has evolved from its lo-fi, finger-picked origins back in 2017 to embracing a 90’s shoegaze and dreampop sound. The first song I wrote for it was premiered at our gig at @centreculturelirlandais back in ‘21, two more were written while on residency at @ballinglen_arts_foundation in late ‘21 with the most recent track written last year, so it’s been a while in the making. . The album is available on Bandcamp (link in bio) on CD in a jewel case, which I opted for to reflect the era that inspires the sound. It’s also on all streaming platforms (but buying on Bandcamp supports artists directly). There’s a feature in today’s Connacht Tribune / Galway City Tribune @ctribune on the album too. It’s an honour to join one of the most prominent Healthcare Art Collections in the world.
