Oscar's Photo Lab is a family owned business operating in San Francisco for 40+ years.
On Friday, May 1, our CCA MFA thesis exhibition will open to the public. This marks the culmination of two very challenging years on a personal level and multitude of fronts. Theyâve also been some of the most rewarding. Iâm grateful to see this program through and excited to share this moment with my incredible cohort and Bay Area community! Hope you can make it by campus while itâs on view through May 16.
Our reception will be held just ahead of closing on Friday, May 15, from 5â8PM. Please come out to celebrate the class of 2026 and CCA. The latter sadly wonât be around much longerâŚ
I owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to so many people who made this all possible, not least of which @enlargedheart , @aspenmays , and Chris Johnson. None of this CCA adventure happens without their belief in me, endless support, and advocacy. It was such a privilege to meet and work with many other brilliant professors and advisors here, which makes the end of this historic school all the more difficult. And letâs not forget @race.dillon who literally carried me over the line many times. So many more people helped me complete this MFA and accomplish the work, but itâs truly impossible to name them all. That said, I owe so much to my family and friends â specifically @anyavo for her patience, belief, and for putting up with me (especially lately). I share this all with you! đ¤
A new gathering at The Project Room.
An intimate Foto Book Salonâcentered around a single photobook, shared through storytelling, slow looking, conversation, and aperitivo.
Each salon brings together a small, thoughtfully curated groupâcollectors, enthusiasts, and those drawn to the photobook as both object and narrative.
On Wednesday, May 6, Iâll be sharing Le Retour by Roxane Cassehgari.
Le Retour takes the form of a passport, with beautiful detailsâgold hot foil stamping, stitching, and a dedicated identity page.
The book explores memory, distance, and the quiet pull of a place that continues to live within us. Holding itâmuch like my own passportâfeels deeply personal, evoking a sense of connection, movement, and the desire to engage more closely with our global community.
Each guest receives a copy of the book.

Like most of my friends and colleagues, I'm deeply saddened by the news of CCA(C) closing its doors. Teaching there and working with some of the most talented teachers and students was one of the highlights of my career.
I think the email that I received from the brilliant artist/teacher #Doug Hall says it all.
As he said, "another piece of disheartening news to dampen my spirits."
