Cbus Property’s 435 Bourke Street is ushering in a new era for ‘midtown’ Melbourne, with Australian hospitality group @lucascollective recently announcing @wishbonemelbourne , entrepreneur @mrchrislucas ’ debut restaurant concept for the site. The bold Hong Kong-inspired dining experience, led by chef @danchan_852 of @yardbirdyakitori and @tombo_den fame, is set to reinvigorate the CBD when it opens in October 2026. Last week, 205 North Quay set the scene for the Council on Vertical Urbanism Brisbane Committee’s first event of 2026. Our very own Project Director and Head of Design, Michelle Fitzgerald, joined the Q&A panel, where a thoughtful discussion explored the design ambition, engineering outcomes and cross-disciplinary collaboration underpinning this next-generation project. 205 North Quay’s identity as a subtropical workplace of the future and a building designed to ‘breathe’ resonated with the audience, sparking a robust conversation around climate-responsive design and the role of workplace in shaping broader urban value. The striking 210-seat civic auditorium once again proved itself a fitting backdrop for industry dialogue — and we look forward to seeing many more events unfold there. We have officially topped out at 435 Bourke Street in Melbourne’s CBD — marking practical completion of the first stage and bringing one of Australia’s most anticipated next-generation workplaces closer to full completion.
