Iâm not the best at fundraising. I was taught growing up that asking for handouts was not something you did. You worked hard for whatever you earned and made the best of opportunities that you were afforded, and so on and so forth. (Human stuff, human stuff)
But where does that thinking come into play for those who donât have a voice? It doesnât.
I donât need to yammer on. You already know how much I care about wildlife.
And you do, too.
From the tiniest spiders who eat up all those houseplant gnats and mosquitoes, (they know you, you know) to the mighty elephants (who have more wisdom and knowledge in their souls than weâll ever comprehend), I hope that whatever you spend on this #GivingTuesday, itâs for those whom weâve loved our whole lives and who need our voices to stand up for them.
Our wildlife and the wild places we all need to survive need our support and our defense.
But hey, if you want to give a donation on behalf of your own beloved pet for their own brethren in shelters with
@aspca or you just love an animal (of any variety), please consider an NGO working to protect them, and (you guessed it), may you please contribute towards
@wildtomorrow .
Or if youâre in Rhode Island (and when have you NOT seen a dead hawk, or possum or coyote left on the side of the road recently their stories over, never to be told) maybe go to
@riwildlifeclinic or
@congressofthebirds .
There are countless groups who are working tirelessly who uplift and breathe hope into their communities and the world at large..
The best part? The littlest amount goes the longest way. $50 can feed a rhino for a month. Iâve been lucky enough to witness it firsthand in Africa.
I know thatâs a lot to take in, but thank you for reading this far. (Iâm not trying to be a Sarah McLachlan song, but it is pretty pitch perfect, right?)
Thank you for supporting our wildlife, wild places, and all those who risk their lives, livelihoods and beyond, for all of us. Link in bio! đđđđŚđŚđˇď¸đ
