Last week we gathered with our Resource Partners at @fostervillageaustin for our quarterly check-in. It was such a meaningful time to connect with this dedicated group of community partners, share program updates, and discuss upcoming initiatives and seasonal programming. We also loved the opportunity for networking and strengthening relationships among fellow nonprofit professionals working alongside children and families. ❤️ We are grateful for this collaboration and continued partnership that helps strengthen support for families we serve every day. We love doing this work together!!😊 #fostercommunity #partners #strengtheningfamilies #supportingcommunities

This Civic culture tour with @caseyprograms was all about the cultural fabric of history and cultures that tug together stronger when stressed #oldoakland to #oaklandchinatown is a true walk through spaces and times and cultures that move, mix and change throughout the day and night. Always easy to run into local leaders, humble heroes and on the under superstars…a moving evolving #constellation of everything all at once. So much history and stories of redlining and resistance, of rootedness and resilience, of loss and gain. @e14gallery @blackterminusar @huangchengnoodles @mademuseum @asianhealthservices @ebaldc @greenfishseafood Thx to @caseyprograms for the years of partnership, looking forward to the future. Honor to be asked to do this, and can’t wait to see you at @castlemontfarm8601 this summer #connectingthedots

Key staff were in Washington, D.C. this week for the Child Welfare League of America’s (CWLA) National Conference. This annual event gathers the brightest minds in child welfare and allied fields to share innovative and sustainable solutions that strengthen and protect children and families. The central theme of this year’s conference is: What’s next? There is no question the child welfare system needs reform - but how? How do we design a system that truly affords children and families the support and freedom to be successful within their communities? Thank you, CWLA, for leading this important discussion, and for allowing Massachusetts providers to raise our voices, affect change, and stand up for children, youth, and families in need! #CWLA #ChildWelfare #Advocacy #CapitolHill #mapoli

A powerful moment for our community. 🩷 At ʻOhana Fest, Mayor Richard Bissen officially proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Maui County—reminding us that protecting our keiki is a shared kuleana. Surrounded by families, community partners and advocates, we came together under this year’s theme, E Ulu Ē – Growing Stronger Together, to uplift the importance of connection, support and prevention. 🌱 Because when we show up for one another, we create safer, stronger communities for all keiki. #HooikaikaPartnership #OhanaFest2026 #MauiEvents #ProtectiveFactors #ChildAbusePreventionMonth

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, inviting us to recommit to keeping all children safe. That must include protecting Native children and their right to stay connected to their families. ICWA is the gold standard for child welfare practice because it prioritizes relative care. Child Removal and family separation cause intergenerational trauma by breaking community ties, but ICWA was created to repair this harm and protect Native families. During National Child Abuse Prevention Month and every month, we fight to protect Native children by preserving and strengthening ICWA, ensuring their safety, stability, and connection to culture and community. Preventing harm means investing in what keeps families and traditions intact. We look forward to expanding our partnerships to advance this vital work. #ChildWelfare #ProtectICWA

A powerful and important conversation took place at the Antelope Valley Stakeholders Forum, held at Life Church and presented by 5th District County Supervisor Kathryn Barger in partnership with the Department of Children and Family Services. This forum brought together leaders, advocates, and community members focused on strengthening support systems for foster youth, families, and social workers across the Antelope Valley. From addressing staffing challenges to expanding mental health services and improving collaboration across agencies, the discussion centered on real solutions that can create lasting impact. We were especially inspired by the Philanthropic Panel, featuring Moderator Kate Anderson, Executive Director of the Center for Strategic Partnerships, alongside panelists Lauren Nichols, Executive Director of the Anthony Pritzker Family Foundation, and Justin Leo, Senior Director of Strategic Consulting at Casey Family Programs (@caseyprograms ) . Each brought valuable insight, leadership, and a shared commitment to driving meaningful change in the child welfare system. Angel’s Nest Executive Director Arzo Yusuf and Housing Coordinator Destiny Fimbres were also in attendance, sharing ways Angel’s Nest can support foster youth and serve as a strong, collaborative partner for organizations across the region. Conversations like these are critical. They create alignment, awareness, and action around the needs of a community that deserves continued attention and support. Thank you to @supervisorkathrynbarger , @dcfs_la and Life Church for bringing this important forum together and for your continued leadership in supporting foster youth and families. 📍 Antelope Valley #FosterCareAwareness #CommunityImpact #AntelopeValley #DCFS #SupportFosterYouth #NonprofitWork
