Another successful Caring Force Rally on the Hill 💛
Key Program, Inc. staff members gathered with representatives from over 220 human service organizations at the State House in Boston for the 13th Annual Providers’ Council State House Rally.
Each year, we come together to connect with our community to raise our voices and urge lawmakers to support our mission of assisting children, youth, and families.
President & CEO Tammy Mello met with state legislators and policy makers to discuss funding and the necessity of additional support for human services across Massachusetts.
We are honored to be surrounded by hundreds of social workers and human service members making a difference in our community every day.
We’re here in Washington, D.C. participating in the Child Welfare League of America (CWLA) 2025 National Conference: Inspiring Change, Igniting Progress. CWLA is a coalition of hundreds of private and public agencies that has supported children and families since 1920.
President & CEO Tammy Mello, COO Mike Murray, as well as Key’s Lynn Meffen, Nancy Fillio, Norah Hass, Beth Palladino, Kendyll Ramos and Shannon Allen all gathered with the nation’s brightest minds in child welfare, and youth and family services to engage, connect, and learn.
U.S. Congresswoman Gwen Moore and U.S. Senator Susan Collins addressed the state of our political climate, emphasizing the need for us to come together as a community and continue to advocate for vulnerable children and families in America. Mike and Tammy also had the privilege of visiting Capitol Hill to meet with Representatives from Massachusetts to help advocate for policies and funding in the areas that most impact children, families, and the staff that help support them. At this crucial time in our history, we are reminded of our responsibility, and we are energized to return to our essential work.
Thank you, CWLA for coordinating this important event!

Last week, The Key Program had the honor and privilege of attending Game 5 of the Boston Celtics vs. the Philadelphia 76ers first-round playoff series.
Western Region youth and staff alike were gifted a private suite, equipped with all-inclusive food and beverages, and an unforgettable view.
We are extremely thankful to the Key Program Management Team for this incredible opportunity. Though the game only lasted a few hours, we know the memories will last a lifetime.

On the last day of National Nurses Week, we’d like to thank nurses for everything they do for us and our community.
You are caregivers, mental health counselors, educators, and sometimes even fire extinguishers.
A special shoutout to our Nurse Monitor, Christine Martin, from your NE team! Administrative Assistant, Victoria Ursillo kindly states,
“Christine goes above and beyond in her role for the Northeast region, constantly supporting the team however she can. We are so grateful for everything she does!”
Thank you, Christine, and to ALL of our nurses here at Key. Our programs would not be the same without each and every one of you!!

Another successful recruitment season 🗣️📋
From left - Administrative Assistant, Leonella Acevedo and Outreach Caseworker, Savannah Banuchi, attended one of the many college fairs in our area. Here they are representing Key at Rhode Island College in Providence last month.
Shout out to ALL the New England students, faculty, and administrators who stopped by our tables this academic year to learn more about Key!
See you next year 👋🏼
Meet our Western Region therapy dog, Quincy 🐾
Quincy and his owner Amanda have been visiting the boys at both our Arnold Ave. and KIT Intensive Treatment Programs since before COVID hit in 2020.
Six years later, our furry friend has retired from all residential programs and now assists with outreach. But we couldn’t let them leave without a doggy bag of gifts, including a personalized sweatshirt!
It wasn’t long ago that we were living through a pandemic, which turned our worlds completely upside down. To stay connected to the children and families at Key, Amanda dedicated time twice a month to send us clips of Quincy and what he was up to. This small, thoughtful gesture was something our kiddos could count on. It was a return to normalcy and a reminder that we would all be together again, when it was so hard to be.
Swipe left to hear Quincy tell the tail...well, tale 🐶
Key staff were in Washington, D.C. this week for the Child Welfare League of America’s (CWLA) National Conference. This annual event gathers the brightest minds in child welfare and allied fields to share innovative and sustainable solutions that strengthen and protect children and families.
The central theme of this year’s conference is: What’s next? There is no question the child welfare system needs reform - but how? How do we design a system that truly affords children and families the support and freedom to be successful within their communities?
Thank you, CWLA, for leading this important discussion, and for allowing Massachusetts providers to raise our voices, affect change, and stand up for children, youth, and families in need!
