A little backstory : In 2012 I was invited to participate in a group exhibition of grayscale paintings at Nudashank Gallery in Baltimore, MD curated by the esteemed artist @mcrvn . The formal challenges of working without color were many and I learned a lot from creating that piece. I loved the work but it was a one off. I was happy to learn it had found a home with a private collector who would become a champion of mine and of many rising artists in my scene over the next decade.
Fast forward to 2024 and that collector @john.zaso invited me to collaborate on a new rendition of the grayscale show at his gallery, inspired by the long beloved piece of mine in his collection.
Artists known for their bold use of color and love of floral and botanical imagery were asked to mix it up by creating a floral still life painting without color. I was eager to approach this challenge again with an added 12 years of experience under my belt and Iโm kind of in love with how my piece came together, especially on a white background. But more than that, I am in love with the other artists in this show and honored to share the wall with their incredible works.
My sincerest THANKS to John for believing in my work and continuing to support my career for all these years.

Iโm so excited to finally share this project! Last Fall I was invited by @gcs_agency on behalf of a private client to design a vinyl window installation, using existing artwork from my archives. Huge thanks to everyone involved for pulling this project together in record time and especially to the installation team for getting it up in sub-zero temperatures!

Casey Grayโs ๐๐ฆ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ค๐ต๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐๐ณ๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ด now lives at 255 State โ a new faรงade moment in downtown Boston that turns everyday objects into something more deliberate, more symbolic, more alive.
Grayโs work is rooted in patience and precision: hand-cut masking, layered color, and a painting process that rewards close looking. Up close, it hums with detail; from across the street, it reads as a bold, unified composition.
Produced by GCS Agency for Pembroke, with support from JLL.
Ok, so, I bit off a lot with this one, but how else do we learn right?
Carte blanche commission for a landscape inspired by the Northern California coast. Truly grateful for the opportunity. Translating my language for still life into deep space was the song of Summer and Iโm really starting to find my way with it this Fall. So challenging, so rewarding.
And before you ask, similar to my still life work, no, this painting does not depict a real place or scene. It was pieced together through a mix of my own photography and found images, blended together in Photoshop and redrawn in effort to capture a more utopian vision. Iโm not sure if Iโll stick with this approach or if using a singular reference might feel more honest. Starting to think the magic is probably somewhere in between. I donโt know. Maybe itโs not important at all. In love with painting landscapes either way.

I am so honored and humbled to have designed a new Artist Series skateboard graphic for @willysworkshop 25th anniversary!
I am a lifelong skateboarder, in case you didnโt already know, and still skate regularly to this day. Itโs my biggest passion. @willysantos and I met shortly after I moved to San Diego for college in 2002 while I was still in the dorms at SDSU. He took me under his wing and I started officially riding for Willys Workshop around 2005. These are some of the fondest years on my youth, shredding all over Southern California with the team, eventually culminating in the video ๐๐ช๐ญ๐ฎ ๐๐ฉ๐ช๐ด! produced by @cameronsanchez1 ๐ฅ in 2007.
My new board, titled ๐๐ข๐ฎ๐ช๐ญ๐บ ๐๐ญ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ณ, is available now online and in select skate shops nationwide. Pick one up today to grip and rip like me or hang on the wall and enjoy forever. Available in sizes 7.25 - 8.75, limited edition.
The artwork is a representation of our skate family in those years, each flower unique but all growing from the same stem. The eight point design at the top signifies how much we all looked up to Willy and the skateshop and references the national flag of the Philippines.
Congratulations to @willysantos Shalihe and the entire Santos family on 25 amazing years! And, thank you sincerely from the bottom of my heart for continually supporting me, my skating and my artwork since day one! โค๏ธ๐น๐ต๐ญ
