This year’s Green Spa Network Sustainability Summit at the Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa reminded us why this work matters. And how powerful it can be when community leads the way 💚
We began in ceremony with Ruth-Ann Thorn (founder of @n8iv_beauty and host of This Is Indian Country) who guided a morning medicine wheel activation and directional prayers. A grounding reminder that true sustainability includes honoring the original stewards of the land and the traditions that teach us how to care for it.
Across the two-day summit, we were paired for vendor meetings (Kim with Rachel Yvonne, Cary with Karina Chung), sparking meaningful exchanges, powerful collaboration, and genuine joy along the way 🤝
And in pursuit of holistic longevity, Kim experienced a transformative 25-minute realignment session with Ammortal; a glimpse into how technology, energy, and human vitality may continue to converge in the wellness landscape ahead.

From the desk of Cary Collier: At last, Nekajui, Ritz Carlton Reserve and Nimbu Spa & Wellness has opened. Our team has been working on this extraordinary wellness project in Papagayo, Costa Rica, since 2018. The nature and views are stunning, and awe is abundant.
During the January 2025 pre-opening site inspection, I was joined by long-time colleague, Jason Wolf of Universal Companies. Jason did his magic for the equipment installation and making things work that didn’t work.
While testing the water features in the pool, I experienced a momentary loss of body hair and screaming followed from a near miss of my swimsuit blowing away. The fountain jets were entirely too powerful. From all my years of spa openings this was an invigorating and new hydrotherapy experience - but not recommended!
In my career, this is one of the most remarkable properties and spas I have had the privilege to work on. The location and culture of Costa Rica reminds me of Bali. For Nimbu Spa, it just feels good to be there. This is always a favorable and memorable attribute.
Congratulations to everyone who has been involved. The team and collaborations were excellent and really brought this spa to life.
