Sending all my love to Mike who took Bub in as a tiny little kitten.. She was the runt of a healthy litter and needed extra special care to survive. Mike rescued her and took care of her despite so many medical complications and short-term life expectancies. Against all odds she not only survived but became stronger, and was the subject of groundbreaking medical research, as well as becoming one of the most famous cats on the internet!

With that platform Bub and Mike helped raise over $700.000 for a number of animal charities and reached millions of people around the world with a message positivity, determination and perseverance in the face of adversity... I was lucky enough to meet Bub and work on a feature doc about her for Vice, which took us to TriBeCa film festival in 2013 where we won the viewer's choice award. The film is called "Lil Bub and Friendz" and is now on YouTube.

Also grateful to have met Mike her owner who also plays in an awesome band called @memorymapband who I later found out knows and has worked with my friend Tomotaka who runs our label in Japan @likeafoolrecords - such a mad coincidence!!!

#truth most times I write a check to the causes I care about and that is great too but giving of my time is always so fulfilling and I was reminded how much this fills me up. It’s really a gift to give your time and presence. Perfect morning in LA. Spent the morning on #skidrowlosangeles #downtownLA volunteering and working with the homeless, sharing breakfast to hundreds of persons and then kitchen duties prepping lunch. If one suffers we all suffer. Seeing the needs of people in the richest state in the richest country really reiterates the fact that we must fix capitalism
