Hey! My name is Alexa and I love planning weddings!
I was actually born in Worcester into a big Greek family đŹđˇlong story short, my grandfather was the first of his siblings to come to the USA. He found an American Greek bride and worked at her fathers restaurant before creating his own. Eventually, his siblings came to America, settling on the Cape, building homes, as the Cape wasnât as developed back then.
Soo all my Greek cousins lived on the Cape. So we summered here growing up, boating and going to Crowes Pasture, until we moved to Harwich when I was 12 years old. Graduated from Harwich High School.
I then left the Cape to do the whole corporate thing. Went to CT and then NYC. Worked at some big tech companies as a product manager. But I just hated the politics of it. There was always a clash between the engineers and sales/upper management and I kept getting into the middle of it. It ruined the fun parts of being a product manager. This is how I developed my strong attention to detail. Thereâs a strong overlap between project management and wedding planning! đ
I then changed careers into hospitality management, working for a family owned portfolio of small inns on the Cape. I was responsible for revenue performance and front desk operations. I ended up creating a wedding program from scratch and ended up coordinating weddings. Thatâs when I realized, hey Iâm really good at this!
And thatâs how it all started. I went solo and took a leap of faith. I started my own wedding planning business and could not be happier. I am so thankful to my family and friends for the support. Especially, my fiance @92rockyrego , for giving me the confidence I needed to take that big step. I know I wouldnât have if I were doing it alone. And of course my clients who trusted & believed in me. đđź
Few fun facts about me:
đ¤Iâm an extroverted, introvert. I like to socialize but also value time alone. I think this is why Iâm so eclectic with hobbiesđ Check out the comments for more!
