As Spring begins, I wanted to take a second to say hello again. My name is Cole Cook, I am a sculptor living and working in Truro on Cape Cod. I work nearly exclusively in wood, and aim to create objects that one can befriend. I hope people live with these pieces in a way that creates intimacy - by watching sunlight fill the hollows of a pattern over morning coffee, or tracing it's ridges with a finger while reading. The things I make are meant to be experienced. To be touched. To be held. I am getting ready for an exciting 2026. I will be showing at @bblggallery on June 5th, as well as various pop-ups on the Outer Cape through the summer, and more coming soon. I'll also be teaching a workshop at @castlehilltruro for those who want to learn more about the sculpting process. My work is available online at ColeCookArtwork.com, and studio visits are always available by appointment. Thank you so much for following along. I want to make work that lives with people, and enriches their lives, and that's really hard to do without people. Thank you again. 👋

Got these wonderful photos from @andytowle_art who has hung one of my sand Pattern series in his beautiful new dining room. The amount of lift, and joy that comes from seeing photos like this - of people who live with and love my work - is so vast. I've said it before, we gotta legalize compliments; they can change the world. This room is beautiful. The table is beautiful. The @nantucketedge is lovely. And I'm smitten that something I loved bringing into existence is part of it. #interior #design #ptown #diningroom #sculpture #wallsculpture #2dsculpture #calm #quiet #wave #beach #beachhouse #capehouse #space

Walking around town with @p.hocking seeing what there is to see, saying hi to all the nice folks. I stopped by the @outermosthome pop up, and popped in to see @gastonlacombe at his beautiful gallery. The sun is shining. The people are out. Today is a wonderful day to be alive and outside and on Cape Cod and in PTown. I'm gonna duck into the studio for a spell as there are many things to do. I hope each and every one of you has a lovely Sunday #ptown #capecod #onseason

Beautiful objects, lovely works of art, a really wonderfully curated store. Located at 188 Commercial St (next to Spiritus) Open Fri - Sun 11-5. We hope to see you this summer!

A few thoughts on offcuts. I chat all the time about saving wood, or falling in love with some sawn off bit that I can't bring myself to throw away. I think there are two reasons for this. I think primarily it's about honoring the tree, and the life it lived, and all the life it supported. And I want to treat it with the reverence that I believe wood deserves. And then there's the playful, creative potential that exists in all these little bits n bobs. I'm unsure where the work is headed. I'm unsure what will be helpful. And like I said, I do not need to know those answers. These are stunning spalted maple pieces that if they take well to their glue up will absolutely have another life.

Very Happy to have some of my mini moon medallions at @shopisabelsouza this season! I have long been a fan of her work, her shop, and the artists and makers she fills it with. I am overjoyed to be able to announce that I will be joining that roster for the season, and I hope y'all pop in to see the space and meet Izzie, because both are worth it. Isabel Souza Studio Shop is located at 313 Main St Unit 5 (under William Revais) and May hours are Thursday-Sunday 11-5. #capecod #shopisabelsouza #shopsmall #shoplocal #localmakers

What a day to be working outside with bits of trees. "Operation: Make Wood Smaller" continues with gusto.

Not only are you allowed, I would encourage everyone to try it. I loved my time playing Minor League Baseball. I am loving my time sculpting more. What a beautiful thing to be able to have dreams.

If Pete and I had a comic book I'd want it to be called "Cookie and The Doc". I don't know what we would do. Go on nice walks. It might not be a compelling comic book.
