hey friends
so im thinking about us
and about last night
MOSTLY ABOUT HOW WE ARE REALLY TALKING ABOUT US WHEN WE TALK ABOUT ART.
WE ARE ACTUALLY JUST TALKING ABOUT OURSELVES AND EACH OTHER, when we consider light patterns textures colors stripes diagonal situations, angles, and how each, both in metaphor and tangible form, relate so precariously so wonderfully to our individual perceptions of depth mood contrast
there was a favorite conversation last night
wherein a question was considered:
are stripes who are actively being plaid
still stripes or are they now just lines?
this began as easy silliness, but it became passionately obvious there were 100 different ways of seeing all parts of art, and art itself, (is art ever alone tho?) plus tons about where why and how to see art
STILL what stood out to me was that our ready to launch laughter revealed itself as the real shape shifter among us.
laughter was the honey the glue the salve
it was the shared involuntary release that we all seemed to need, to want, and to already know how to speak
AND who was behaving
as a multilingual and completely solid charming peer, to our compassion, our radicalism, our ingenuity, and it definitely wanted us to get each others numbers
IT ALSO BECAME OBVIOUS
THAT WE WERE NOT NECESSARILY
TALKING ABOUT ART, BUT RATHER,
HOW WE WANTED TO LIVE
HOW WE WANTED TO LOVE
HOW WE FELT BEING HUMAN BEINGS
AND THAT SO MANY THINGS
WERE SO OBVIOUSLY TRUE ALL AT ONCE
WHEN WE WERE ALL TOGETHER
THAT COMMUNITY IS THE GOLDEN TICKET
for all that is to come in the next few years
but also for everything sacred or important
within our personal forevers
so anyways lets think on this like true
and innovative warriors this week, wanna?
lets consider the golden powerful force of our connection to one another. and lets JOYFULLY TRULY PRIORITIZE however we chose to find one another...
but for now, definitely check on your tender darlings. be cool to yourself. cut a good person some slack.
and for gods sake hold the door open and smile
for all the lines out there who fucking know they are stripes.
