You know what time of year it is! On Monday, Bustle attended the @wnba Draft where we interviewed and took portraits of 13 top players moments after they learned they’d be going pro this season. They told us about their hopes for the year, how they’re spending their first paycheck 🤑…and you know we had to ask about the tunnel ‘fits. This is always one of my very favorite events to cover because the energy in the room is that of pure, unbridled excitement and joy, and this year was no different. 🏀

On the off-chance you're not following that *other* major cultural event happening in New York City this week, do check out @kenrextheplay at the Lortel through the end of June — it's a twisty true-crime play that unfolds like a podcast come to life! (It's even Riedel-approved. 😱) I spoke with co-writer, star, and recent Olivier winner @1jackholden — who plays all 35(!) characters in the show — about how it all came together, as well as his pre- and post-show routines and rituals.
Putting this on the grid bc I was told my hair looked “glam-or-ous,” but more importantly we got @michaelriedel1224 in a tux, folks (no tie tho 🤷🏻♀️) @houseofspeakeasy
"Becky Shaw" has stayed with me because I found myself, at varying points throughout the play, not knowing who to root for or who I should like — if anyone. That's the point, and part of what makes the show so brilliant. I spoke with Alden Ehrenreich, who's making his Broadway debut as Max, about stepping into this very specific, very complex role.
Pivoting from women's basketball back to Broadway! For our latest Curtain Call on @bustle , I spoke with @gianttheplay star @maybeayacash about the play's timely themes and the rituals that keep her grounded on and offstage. “I read the play and I couldn’t breathe afterward,” she told me. “Absolutely terrifying. It’s the conversations that nobody seemed able to have these days.”
A relaxing few days in Napa was just what the doctor ordered, complete with crisp morning runs among the grapevines (and post-run outdoor showers), the freshest farm-to-table meals, revisits to a couple of my favorite places, and a stay at the most gorgeous @stanlyranchauberge (I am already plotting my return visit 😈). Oh, and a winery stop or two. 😉 Thank you @delta for the sneak peek into the upcoming 2027 Delta One wine program - what a treat! 🍷
Had a candid convo with @samtutty of @twostrangersmusical about his theater routine, not getting fixated on pre-show rituals, and trusting yourself onstage: "As soon as you’re in front of 1,000 people, you can fall into really easy traps where you don’t trust yourself anymore or you feel like your body’s going to fail you out of nowhere, and it will only be that worry that fuels that possibility." Preach. Live on @bustle now!
Had a lovely and refreshing lil snack and chat with @gracie about @alloutbroadway , work, ambition, the importance of doing the things you LOVE, and not letting external validation cloud that decision making. Live on @bustle now!
2016: the year I PR'd the NYC Marathon, convinced Riedel to give Hamilton a second shot (IYKYK), managed a smile even after he took me on a 20-mile bike ride in 95-degree heat, enjoyed many an apple cider donut (my brand, along with my commitment to Ray-Bans, remains strong), worked award shows galore at The Post, and generally took very few photos because I was having a great time.
