Chili Con Carnival Revival was a success! Thanks to everyone for bringing such delicious food— meat and vegetarian chilis, and chocolate layered puddings, cornbread salad and cornbread, cowboy caviar, spicy jalapeño sauce. Got to see @isabelvleer work at the @dogwoodcanyonauduboncenter and after the rain it has that wonderful earthy smell and the colors are really deep. It’s home to two harvestmen, or daddy long legs, and you can see ants moving in and out.
From a perfect trip to Portland, including driving to the coast and Multnomah Falls in the same day, hiking and seeing tons of banana slugs (a personal fave), and walking around the Japanese Garden. @doctorsanantonio
