It’s happening! California Alliance for Community Composting would like to cordially invite you to our upcoming gallery
@flowerfistmarket (1819 E Street) in Sacramento planned alongside the
@keepcompostlocal Cultivating Community Composting forum and the USCC’s annual conference and tradeshow Feb 1-4, 2026.
The curated art exhibition “Gathering Ground: A Celebration of Compost Art and Culture” will feature 75 artists, including: textile art, photography, watercolors, paintings, sculptures, graphic prints, ceramics, videography, and several interactive installation displays all related to composting in some way. The level of creativity is astounding, so we thank all the participating artists for being amazing. We can’t wait to share it with you.
The art exhibit is FREE and will be open to the public on Sunday, Feb 1 from 2pm-5pm and again on Wednesday, Feb 4 from 12pm-5pm.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to our gallery sponsor, Association of Compost Producers,
@cacompost for covering the costs of the event venue, our host at Flower Fist Art Market, and to our co-organizer Institute for Local Self-Reliance’s Cultivating Community Composting forum for gathering folks from all aspects of the compost world to attend. The beauty and joy of compost art and culture will be seen by international and national community composters, USCC members, California legislators, federal and local compost policymakers, Sacramento composters and sustainable agriculture workers, friends, family, and beyond! And of course, a huge thanks to all the folks that purchased Compost-the-Empire apparel (link in bio) to support a $50 participation stipend for each artist/group included in the exhibit. Did you get your shirt yet?
The art submission we selected for this official event poster was created by Adriana Ridings. (adrianaridingsdesign.com)
