Happy #WorldCLTDay2026! Across the world, communities are celebrating the growing CLT movement and the role of collective land stewardship in advancing affordable housing, community stability, and equitable development. We're excited to be hosting a workshop on June 9, 2026 as part of the global #CLTVirtualSummit2026 and sharing a few photos from a global learning exchange for CLTs and CLT Network's from the global South and global North, hosted in Rio de Janeiro by Catalytic Communities/Favela CLT Project and co-organized with @rondoclt and the @cltcenter . Lastly, check out our 2025 Impact Report, linked in bio!

Our co-sponsored bill to create the Community Anti-Displacement and Preservation Program (SB 1091) was unanimously passed by the Senate Appropriations Committee! This bill will support CLTs and community-based nonprofits to acquire and preserve naturally-occurring affordable housing. The bill now moves on for a vote before the full Senate later this month. Funding for the program - currently proposed at $500 million - would come from the pending Affordable Housing Bond (SB 417 and AB 736) being considered by the legislature. We're working hard with our members to make the case for this funding to move alongside SB 1091.

We have two great workshops coming up this month! RSVP via the link in our bio to join either workshop – Tuesdays at 12pm – open to current California CLT Network members + our peers in the San Joaquin Valley. On April 21, we'll dive into debt preparedness with Nonprofit Finance Fund: how to manage debt, understand the implications of debt and if its right for your organization, and how to successfully prepare for loan applications with this in mind. On April 28, we're hosting an interactive Part 2 conversation where longtime CLT leaders will share tensions, challenges, successful strategies, and outcomes they’ve experienced while navigating relationships with banks – all with an eye towards building stronger relationships with banks across the CLT movement. hope to see y'all there 🌻

The Community Anti-Displacement & Preservation Program (CAPP, SB 1091) passed the Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday with an 11-0 vote! 🎉 Deshanae Cantley, a board member from @bvclt_la and @trust_south_la testified about her experience as a tenant whose building was purchased by a corporate landlord, and why it's so important to support CLTs and other nonprofits to be able to acquire buildings and support tenants to remain stable in their homes. Thank you, Deshanae! Many thanks to bill author @senatorcaballero , Chair @senator_umberg and members of the committee, and our co-sponsors on this bill: @publicadvocates , @enterprisecommunity and @housingca

Thank you to everyone who joined us on March 24th for our 2026 CA CLT Network Lobby Day! It was amazing to see over two dozen CACLTN members advocating for more resources for CLTs with state Senators and Assemblymembers from across California. We're fighting for support and funding for anti-displacement and preservation, tax fairness for CLTs, community reinvestment, and more! To sign on in support of these and see our full slate of 2026 Legislative Priorities, see link in bio.

2026 marks the fifth annual #WorldCLTDay (May 15)—a global moment for communities to celebrate, connect, and bring visibility to the #communitylandtrust movement. This year, we’re building on that momentum with something new: ✨ The first-ever Global CLT Virtual Summit ✨ From May 5–June 10, CLT networks across the world will host 11 online events—sharing experiences, challenges, and innovations from different contexts. Together, these sessions create space to reclaim and honor the Black and Indigenous leadership traditions that gave rise to CLTs and continue to shape community land stewardship globally. Co-hosted by @cltcenter + @rondoclt and supported by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation as part of #WorldCLTDay2026 Explore the program + register (link in bio) 🔁 Please help spread the word across your communities! #CLTVirtualSummit2026

A huge thank you to @ash_kalra for joining us on March 12 at the Virginia Apartments to hear directly from residents and stand with our community. We’re proud to be organizing alongside the @ca.clt.network and partners across the state to advance key policies that protect our communities from displacement, including: • The Community Anti-Displacement & Preservation Program (CAPP) to fund acquisition of affordable housing • Fair tax treatment for Community Land Trusts • A State Community Reinvestment Act to bring more investment into our communities At Virginia Ave, residents showed what’s possible when communities come together to fight for stability, dignity, and long-term affordability. Now we’re working to make sure more communities across California have that same opportunity. Shoutout to @sv_debug for the amazing pictures!
