Cultures Around Us made the local paper!! Thank you so much @breasbuzz for helping shine a light on our mission of bringing people together through art, culture, and community. Weâre grateful for the support and excited to continue creating spaces where people can connect, learn, and celebrate one another.
Sometimes the breakthrough isnât in changing your situationâitâs in changing your perspective. When you let God change your perspective, you begin to see with faith instead of fear. Sometimes the situation stays the same, but your view changes everything.
I was so excited about the featured artists and performances that I forgot to mention I also created 5 new works for the Cultures Around Us exhibition! Three of the pieces were inspired by different cultures, and two celebrated women of color and natural hair. It was such a meaningful experience to contribute my own artwork while helping bring the community together through art and culture.
I don't one the rights to the music.
Sometimes you have to clap for yourself first. đđž Keep going, even when nobody sees the late nights, quiet progress, or small victories. God sees it all. One day the room will catch up to what you already knew about yourself. #mondaymotivationsâď¸
We did it yâall⌠and not one tear, only joy and celebration. đđ
I canât wait to share all the tea, like the kids said đ but what made my heart smile the most was the Haitian students asking me for hugs and my autograph. Whew⌠full circle moments are something special. đđšâ¨
To walk back into the same kind of hallways where I once struggled as a reader⌠and now return as an author reading to children? Only God could write this story.
My heart is so full.
My spirit is grateful.
And my inner child feels seen today.
Now itâs time for Haitian food, laughter, and a LONG overdue nap. đŠđđ¤
Yes⌠this phone WILL be turned off because these eyes have been open since 2:30 AM đ
Thank you God for this life assignment.
Thank you to everyone who prayed, supported, encouraged, and believed in me. đ
And a HUGE thank you to all the sponsors who poured into todayâs experience for the students. I will properly shout each of you out after my nap because baby⌠my brain is officially clocking out đđ¤
Now listen⌠whoâs next? đđ
What school, classroom, library, youth group, church event, or community space is next for a read aloud, encouragement talk, or mental health conversation?
Letâs keep planting seeds into our children and reminding them they are seen, loved, brilliant, and capable. đŤ
