This gathering is made possible with support from Lower Manhattan Cultural Council @lmcc_nyc , whose generous grant has helped to bring Butsu Butsu #8 to life. I am deeply grateful for their support in making space for community, exchange, and shared experience.

Priceless Bake Sale is an experimental bake sale series hosted by Eri Shoji (@butsubutsu ) held at Bungee Space (@bungee.space ) in 2025, designed to explore how value systems function in everyday life of modern times.
Each series will be unique and held irregularly. The snack will be composed based on seasonality and availability, and prepared by Eri on the morning of the sale. In celebration of the launch, a special tea menu will be offered.
At this bake sale, Eri asks guests to determine the price of each snack using “pay what you think it’s worth” model, either in monetary or barter value. Accepted forms of payment include cash, venmo, and bartering with goods, skills or favors.
According to the Asian solar calendar, the series launches on 清明 (Bright and Clear), April 4th - a time when the air remains crisp and fresh, yet the sun sits slightly higher, casting a warmer glow. Let’s embrace it together.
