So a few days ago, we said out loud ; we have two years worth of content sitting on our systems 🥺. The stunt faces and silence made it almost criminal to say.
The last 6 months alone has been so much so little so everything and less .
We have so much to show , acknowledge , give thanks and deliver.
We just had to create a post before the saying ‘better late than never’ discredit the work .
the irony of the sound ending before the end of the content almost proves it .
Ps
we posting this reel at 5am 😖.
the rust on on our editing skills made it take so long, we were scared the drafts wouldn’t save .
PSs
Some of the content is not ours.
Will tag folks in the comments.
Upskilling isn’t optional — it’s essential.
We partnered with @film_london and educator @bushkuts to dive into Afro hairstyling for on-set work 🎬✨
Because being a professional in this industry means being ready for *every* chair, *every* texture, *every* story. No gaps. No excuses.
True growth comes from staying curious, challenging what you already know, and committing to doing better especially when it comes to representation and inclusivity on set.
Thank you to everyone who showed up ready to learn, unlearn, and level up 👏🏽
This is how standards change. This is how the industry moves forward.
👇🏽 What should we cover in the next workshop?

I’m so honoured to be featured as @boholocs Stylist Spotlight of the Month 🩷
For a long time, I’ve heard people speak about my work in so many ways—but I’ve never quite felt like I translated well on paper. So seeing myself written about so clearly, by people I’ve never even met, truly warmed my heart.
The way my journey, my approach to hair, and my creative practice were captured and validated on paper… it honestly brought me to tears in the middle of the street.
To everyone who has come to me for Boho Locs installs—thank you. This moment wouldn’t have been possible without you 🩷
It feels full circle because I’ve genuinely been rocking with this brand in the shadows for years. I remember when it was just conversations over here, while already making serious noise in the States.
When it finally became available to us, it felt like we were stepping into that wider shift in how faux locs and protective styling were being seen.
What stood out immediately was the intention behind the product—locs that are fun, easy to install, and actually designed to work with the thickness and reality of our hair, not against it. Being able to loop through properly, without compromise, was everything.
As stylists working closely with textured hair, I think I can say we deeply value products created with real understanding and intention. We’re always excited to create with brands that champion more for the hair community 🩷
I still in the clouds about it all so I leave with 🩷🩷🩷💕💕💕💕🥂🥂🥂💜💜🥹😢😢😭😭🫣🫣🫣🥰🥰🥰🥰😢😬😬😬😬😬🙃😘😘😘🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾📍💇🏾♀️✅👍🏾✨🚀
@finalchecksacademy first Advanced Afro Hair Workshop… and I’m still thinking about it 🫶🏾
Thank you to everyone who came through with such good energy — it honestly made the whole day.
We got into techniques, refined understanding, tested products/theories — but the best part? The moments.
Someone did their first ever cornrows.
I met an internet industry friend in real life.
Knowledge from that room is travelling overseas.
And there were conversations that really shifted how people see their coworkers in this industry.
Yeah… it was more than a workshop.
I love being in spaces like this…
Love throwing on my
DET hat - sharing what I know, connecting, and seeing everything click for people in real time.
Proud of everyone in that room 🩷

One of the highlights of the Braiding Spotlight Competition was our collab with @bushkuts ❤️
She not only led a live braiding class, but also brought the vibes with her very own pop-up salon, giving guests the chance to get styled on the spot. 🪄
A perfect reminder that our events are more than competitions — they’re about community, education, and celebrating the craft of braiding.

✨ Braids x Cars ✨
What an unforgettable experience being hired by @changaneurope for their very first UK exhibition at Carfest Festival 2025! 🚘✨
They brought two worlds together – cars & braids
At one point, the entire car section was filled with the hairstyles and tattoos the team created 💫
Changan really meant when they said fun should be easy and the memory of team definitely made Carfest hair easy .
it was such an honour to add my craft to the journey.
